Albert Ross Posted May 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Hello - Sailing on the 23rd July this year from Southampton. We will be parking at Cruise Terminal with ABP. Has anyone parked here? Do you have to queue a long time? Thanks Mark As you drive through the gate they will direct you to the right carpark. One is right opposite the ship, the other 2 are a short distance away. One they run a mini bus to.Simples.
gingerpeaches Posted May 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2011 We're on this sailing also! As you drive in to the car park, you'll drop off your luggage and then park. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes in my experience.
Sunnydale Posted May 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2011 We will also the there, the secret is to arrive at 11.00am when there will be no queues for the car park and a minimal queue inside the terminal. Last time we were on board by 11.30am, explored the ship and into lunch before the masses arrived. I think if you arrive at 2.00pm it will be a different story. Princess123 Posted May 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2011 We sailed on IOTS end April and arrived at Southampton at around 1145. The parking was well organised and we were given the choice of joining the queue to dump our luggage, or driving straight to the car park and walking back with our own luggage (which is what you do on return anyway). With hindsight we should have driven straight to the car park as we got stuck in a line where the entire occupants of the car in front got out to sort their luggage out, load some of it back in, and then all get back in the car, which all took some considerable time! okimot Posted May 17, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 17, 2011 We are going again on 11th June on the Independence. This will be the fifth time, including the Naming ceremony. As other posters have said, after you go through the gate, you are directed to the luggage drop off point. Make sure you have the cabin labels on your luggage. The porters may try to take your hand luggage as well. I always get out of the car and indicate which cases they can take. Have a good cruise.
