shore excursion trouble

our friends are having trouble booking a jeep tour in aruba......they have been trying for about two weeks,so I went in to try to do it for them and it gives me the message "reservation is not available at this time please try again later"...what does this mean? does it mean,it's sold out??? any help would be appreciated. should he call Celebrity direct?

I"m not sure if that means the tour is sold out or the website is just experiencing problems (which is entirely possible!).

 

If, in fact, all the available spots are booked, you can still book when you get on the ship. We had that problem with an excursion when we went to Bermuda last year. We could only book one person at a time, and by the time we got thru with the 3rd person, there were no more spots available. (which left 3 kids and NO ADULT....really stupid that you can't book a group IMHO) We were told that they hold back some spots on all excursions for people to book on board.

 

Anyway, if you can't book in advance, just go right to guest services when you get onboard and you should still be able to reserve it.

you know what's really weird,when I put their reservation number in,I get the not available message,but when I put my reservation number in...it accepts it???? I wonder what that means?

Perhaps it means that your friend is not using the correct reservation number from Celebrity.

You can call the 800 Celebrity number and ask to connect directly with the shore excursion desk. I had to call last week to get something corrected.

I think I'll just have them call them directly.....I am using their Celebrity reservation number so I don't know what the problem is! Thanks for all of your replies!

If this persists, they can make their reservations directly with De Palm in Aruba -- this is the outfit that Celebrity is using anyway. I liked the combo jeep ride + afternoon at De Palm's island. www.depalm.com
