storm1of4 Posted May 22, 2011 #76 Share Posted May 22, 2011 I hope you realize that the Gold Card and the perks you received were a result of your booking a GS not achieving Diamond Plus status. Even if you were sailing with RCI for the first time they would have been yours because you booked that suite. I would hope that most people's incentive for spending $60,000 in cruises would be the enjoyment that those cruises provide and not the goal of whatever perks they might gain by becoming Diamond Plus members. Well I know of no one who has spent 60k on cruises and does not enjoy if not totally love cruising....It's silly to think any else.

Dr4633 Posted May 22, 2011 #79 Share Posted May 22, 2011 No sense in waiting in line when you don't have to :) see ya onboard!!! You're saying that you left your friends behind so you could board early??? I'm a Diamond member too but I would NEVER abandon my traveling companions to take advantage of a perk! Sorry but this shows lack of courtesy to my so called friends.
Rare island lady Posted May 22, 2011 #80 Share Posted May 22, 2011 Thats not enough time for signing in. Diamond coupon is good for 30 minutes per person free internet time. Don't forget that you can combine both coupons for the same one account (two diamonds in same cabin) for a total of 1 full hour. Was very nice on our last cruise! Have not been on Freedom since turning Diamond, but will be back aboard in December. Anyone know if you can use your own laptop on WIFI service in your own cabin? Or do you have to go to internet cafe in your PJ's? ;)

Registered a user name and password on a RCI PC in the Diamond Lounge, took the coupons to Guest Relations and by the time logged on in the cabin, there was the credit. No need to go to the internet cafe again. As for Freedom, yes we used WiFi in our cabin on our last Freedom sailing in 2009.
grand isle joe Posted May 22, 2011 #82 Share Posted May 22, 2011 Yes, and what is this supposed to mean?..............I dont want to assume anything. Esp when it comes to people like you who speak loudly about others on line. .....???? .......if the shoe fits......

chucknmarilyn Posted May 23, 2011 #84 Share Posted May 23, 2011 Well, we already get a HUGE discount for Travel agents, $280 pp for an inside cabin, $350 for an outside cabin and $525 for a Balcony Cabin on a 7 day cruise for being a travel agent Somehow these are never available on the cruises I want to book. We've hit one only one time in 10 years so I hope everyone doesn't get the impressions that all Travel Agents pay those rates all the time. Actually the last time I booked one, our friends ended up going cheaper than us when a really good senior or resident rate opened up and they could adjust their price and we couldn't. Kinda funny! mmizzy Posted December 29, 2015 #85 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Hi! Probably not the perfect place for this post, but not sure of where else to post. My phone died after returning from the Transatlantic cruise from Boston -Copenhagen this past spring. Unfortunately, I lost the names/addresses of a couple we had met. Does anyone know Joe and Pam from (I think Michigan)? He had retired from Ford, Pam had just retired from a school office department (?). and they have three older kids. I believe they are diamond anchor members. If someone knows them, or runs into them - please pass along our email. (capeizzy5@comcast.net) Thanks! blueblock Posted December 29, 2015 #86 Share Posted December 29, 2015 mmizzy, was there a Roll Call for your cruise? That might be a better way to track them down than a thread from four and a half years ago about diamond benefits!
griffy116 Posted December 29, 2015 #87 Share Posted December 29, 2015 We are all Diamond and on previous cruises, we had friends were weren't Diamond and it just wasn't convenient to use the lounge and leave them behind. On our last cruise we were all Diamond and enjoyed a drink or two in the Diamond Lounge. For the most part, we appreciated being able to use the two drinks at a bar during those hours better than the Diamond lounge. We combined our internet time because most of us didn't really care about using the internet to stay in touch. This gave the others plenty of time. We used the discount for the laundry bag, the bogo wine, the 25% off in the Logo shop, the 3 free pulls in the Casino (and we racked up a t-shirt and key chain..lol), the match casino, and probably another perk or two. We used priority check-in and the disembarkation lounge. We also received the welcome basket and one night received chocolate covered strawberries and something else (cupcakes?). Our main perk is the balcony discount. ;)
