Kayaking in Geiranger

I am toying with booking a Kayaking trip in Geiranger. I can swim a couple of lengths of a swimming pool and can tread water, is that 'proficient' enough? Are the canoes "driven by a pro" or do I have to row myself? Do I have to double up with DH or go alone? I am more than a little worried about falling in but am excited by the thought of doing something I've never done before......another Bucket List item :D Any advice or experiences, good or bad, would be appreciated

It's dead easy. On the assumption that there's only one outfit doing this trip, they're very stable canoes which you paddle yourself. Highly recommended.

Does anyone know if you can book kayaking in Gerainger privately (i.e. not a cruise company excursion)?

Many thanks! Will look at it and assess the situation. I don't want to book kayaking in advance and find that the weather is torrential!
