What a great forum this is.

Questions for my first cruise on Carnival Destiny(July 7th).

1. When does the embarkation starts? What time I should plan to be at port. Kids are excited and they want to onboard as early as possible.

2. I could not find any information about Elegant/Formal night on 4 night cruise. is it 2nd night of the cruise?

3. I am looking at the deck plans and can not tell which will be MDR. What is the name of MDR on Carnival Destiny?

4. Is MDR going to be open everyday for Lunch and breakfast? Does anyone has link to breakfast and lunch menu in MDR for Destiny?

Questions for my first cruise on Carnival Destiny(July 7th).

1. When does the embarkation starts? What time I should plan to be at port. Kids are excited and they want to onboard as early as possible. Passengers are called by zones. Earliest is @11am as soon as ship is cleared by customs.

2. I could not find any information about Elegant/Formal night on 4 night cruise. is it 2nd night of the cruise? Usually it's the 1st Sea Day

3. I am looking at the deck plans and can not tell which will be MDR. What is the name of MDR on Carnival Destiny? There are 2 Galaxy and Universe

4. Is MDR going to be open everyday for Lunch and breakfast? Does anyone has link to breakfast and lunch menu in MDR for Destiny?

Lunch and breakfast was held in the Universe on Deck 3

My answers are at the end of your questions. Sorry about that...

There are two MDRs, middle one is mostly anytime dining with some traditional. back one is traditional.

elegant night is the first full sea day.

I get to the port before 11 am.

MDR is closed for lunch on port days. Otherwise open for breakfast and lunch.

the breakfast is the same every morning in the MDR.. Only lunch and dinner change.

Just got back elegant night was the second night when we were in Key West.

Universe was open for breakfast and lunch, except on Key West Day, only open for breakfast.

Galaxy DR was used for Traditional dining on lower level and Universe was for Traditional.

Have fun, highly recommend eating in the dining rooms then deal with the buffet lines.;)

Come early - get onboard first and start that vacation!

don't forget to try tea time on sea days and the fun farewell party on the last night (5 pm - free drinks!)

I did a back2back on the Destiny last February - check out my review (see link below near my signature) for pics and details!

Have fun :D

Your questions have already been answered, but I just wanted to say enjoy your trip! My husband and I just returned from cruising on the Destiny (June 9-13) and we had a blast. It is a great ship. It was our first Carnival cruise and we will definitely cruise with them again.
