flashdog_1 Posted June 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2011 I know there is an Italian night, but what is Alaskan night. I was looking at Patters from earlier in the season and noted an Alaskan night in the buffet. Does this mean there'll be Alaskan haddock, Alaskan wild salmon etc? hope hope. Is there an Alaskan night in the main dining rooms? I love that Princess has at least some Alaskan "stuff" on an Alaskan cruise. What is the short movie that's shown on embarkation day, that's about Alaska, a sort of travelog? Thanks

FYI..I had the Roasted corn and Sweet Potato Chowder which was 'ok'..too much corn so more like a bowl of creamed corn rather than chowder. The Surf and Turf was delicious....Princess knows how to cook Jumbo shrimp and they were JUMBO...bigger than most people's prawns.
flashdog_1 Posted June 25, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted June 25, 2011 Yes, there is an Alaskan Night in the main dining rooms. Oh are you so kind to type all that out. Sounds wonderful. I know what I'm ordering already! Did you save all the menus? Short of scanning them and making them available, what's on the Italian night, and which night is that, if you remember? Thanks. You're grrrrrreat

Can someone recently back from the Golden confirm this?

We were on the Golden 5/21/11 and on that sailing they had crab legs as an appetizer.

You're grrrrrreat Here's the link to the Princess Patters for the 2011 Alaska cruises on the Golden.http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1432804. JanetFoster was gracious enough to post them for everyone. The patters only mention the theme for the buffet each night--not the MDR,but I'm sure they are similar. Hopefully someone will come along with a more definitive answer about the menus...in the meantime have fun checking out the patters. I've really enjoyed the patters...now we're even more excited about our Sep cruise!

Brasato di Manzo al Barolo (Beef Pot Roast Braised in Barolo Wine) Pan-Fried Breaded Chicken Cutlet with Mushroom and Fontina Melt Baked Zucchini with Cheese and Onion Stuffing Dessert Cassata all Siciliana (Ice cream trilogy with candied fruits) Tiramisu Frutta e Frutti di Bosco Gratinati (Fruit and berries in Sabayon Gratin, Pistachi Biscotti) Sugar Free Machaccino Semifreddo (Orange Stew) Gelato allo Zabaglione, Gelato al Torroncino, Sorbetto al Linoncello di Sorrento I absolutely LOVE the Eggplant Parmesan appetizer... and I normally don't even like eggplant. I hope the menu is the same now, although I did hear they did not serve tiramisu in the Italian restaurant this year.
