Why Did we get OBC?

Just returned from 4 day cruise on Destiny(July 7 - July-11)

When we checked out I was pleasantly surprised to see $70 OBC on my statement. We were 5 people in stateroom. ANd there were $14 per person OBC.

Was it because It rained on couple days on cruise?

We booked directly from Carnival site so it can not be from TA.

Thanks for all the great people on this board, it was great cruise and family had a wonderful time. I will post some pictures over the weekend.

i dont think the rain had anything too do with it. for 5 people it would be $14 pp. it sounds like a rebate for some port charges or taxes. this happened too me on a alaska cruise.

No idea, but curious how you managed 5 people in one cabin.

I read recently where some countries taxes and fees had changed and do change day to day. That would be the reason for OBC.

Port charges are now included in the price of your cruise so it is doubtful that it would be port charges unless you missed a port. Even then it would be iffy to determine since not even TA's know what each port charge is.
