Xtchr Posted July 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Is there an extra fee to eat in the Bistro ? If so, how much? Do they serve breakfast, lunch or dinner there.. or all 3? Looks tiny on the deck plan with not to many seats.
ORCRUISER Posted July 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2011 $5 fee and they do breakfast and lunch but I am not sure about ther hours.
excitedofharpenden Posted July 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2011 You can get dinner too. They are open very long hours, from 6am to 2am I think. I've never had an issue getting a seat and I've been there quite a few times because I love it! Phil

excitedofharpenden Posted July 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2011 If you are feeling a little bit full after the main course and if you ask they do a mean crepe with just lemon and sugar for afters. Yum. Phil
Lsimon Posted July 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2011 The $5 per person fee is a cover charge and for that fee you can have whatever you'd like, and as much or as little as you'd like, from their menu. On our last two cruises the daily bulletin shows they were open daily from 6AM to 2AM, so you could have breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late night snack there. Their menu does not change. It includes lots of different styles of crepes including breakfast, savory and sweet ones. There were also soup, salads, paninis and desserts (although I've always enjoyed one of their sweet crepes for dessert). We've had lunch there a few times, and on one cruise we had dinner there when we were in the mood for something lighter than a full meal in the dining room. Might even have shared lunch there a few times with some crusie friends posting here ;)
Laurab23 Posted July 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Is that a $5 fee everytime you walk in or for the day? Laura
Lsimon Posted July 26, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Everytime you walk in - it is a cover charge for a meal. Before you leave they request your card and give you a charge slip to sign.
QueenDido Posted July 26, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 26, 2011 I became pretty addicted to the Dulce de Leche crepe on my cruise earlier this year. Heavenly!
PatC Posted July 26, 2011 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Larry - the Mediterranean crepe!!!!!!!:D:D (I think that's the one). When we were there, John didn't want a crepe, he'd had enough food so the waiter (Mustafa) sent the chef right over to the table and she insisted she'd make him a "baby" crepe. Well, she did just that! I've never seen one that small but he ate it and enjoyed every, although few, bites. Love Bistro and anticipate spending embarkation day there on Silhouette in March just to relive memories of Constellation. See you in 2013!!!!!! CathyCruises Posted July 26, 2011 #11 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Yum! Just reading this is making my mouth water. We loved the Cowboy crepe and our great waiter suggested a few changes (which of course I have forgotten now) that made it even better. I always followed with the Grand Marnier crepe, and DH loves the banana/Nutella one. Can't wait till November!
Guest maddycat Posted July 26, 2011 #12 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Does the $5 cover charge include the tip or do you add a tip?
supered Posted July 26, 2011 #13 Share Posted July 26, 2011 My understanding is that the $5 cover charge, as with all cover charges, includes tip. Happy cruising. Eddie :D
Rare Turtles06 Posted July 26, 2011 #14 Share Posted July 26, 2011 I'm pretty much addicted to Nutella crepes, so every time I read about the Bistro on 5, I get even more excited about our cruise next year on the Eclipse! :) And now we have our game plan for embarkation day lunch! We're The Groupnors Posted July 26, 2011 #17 Share Posted July 26, 2011 The "build your own" breakfast crepe (which is actually served all day) is yummy! Also love the Hot and Spicy and Grand Marnier crepes!
CathyCruises Posted July 26, 2011 #18 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Well, we always tipped some amount over the $5.00--the service (and food) was so good, it was totally worth it to us.
Denny01 Posted July 26, 2011 #19 Share Posted July 26, 2011 We stepped in one late night for just a snack. We shared a crepe. The waitress told me since I was paying $5 that I should get one too, but I told her we just wanted to eat light. She only charged us for one meal because we shared! I tipped her the extra $5. Very Classy place. Den
LV2COOK Posted July 26, 2011 #20 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Best place to start the cruise...we always have lunch there on embarkation day...no crowds. A calm, quiet, excellent meal....totally worth $5.:)

bakcd Posted July 27, 2011 #22 Share Posted July 27, 2011 For those needing a gluten free diet, they do make gf crepes. Well worth the $5 and something different from what is normally available.
retiredtogolf Posted July 27, 2011 #23 Share Posted July 27, 2011 BEST WAY to start your cruise with lunch while you wait for the call that the cabins are ready. IMO the best $5. you spend on board.
Thornbird Posted July 28, 2011 #24 Share Posted July 28, 2011 What is a cowboy crepe? And do they have hazelnut crepes? I had a host mum in France who said they were easily the best but I loved nutella so i never tried it - now I want to make up for it.
excitedofharpenden Posted July 28, 2011 #25 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Here's a copy of the menu from the excellent preismans.com website: If it's not on the menu and you ask one of the staff they'll do their best to make it up from the ingredients they have. If you are full after main course they'll also do you a "small" crepe for afters. Phil
