NH Cruisers Posted August 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2011 On board the Sapphire Princess are the TV's on board the older boxy cathode ray tube or the newer flat LCD's? No big deal, just wondering. Jon
Pam in CA Posted August 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2011 On board the Sapphire Princess are the TV's on board the older boxy cathode ray tube or the newer flat LCD's? No big deal, just wondering. In January, during our cruise, they were switching the TVs to flat screen TVs. I assume all cabins now have them. Heavy T Posted August 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Just got off the Sapphire on 7/24 and all rooms, from what I saw, had the Flat LCD TV's.
NH Cruisers Posted August 2, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Thanks for the replies. The LCD TV's give the rooms more space.
Putterdude Posted August 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2011 They are now all 21" or 22" ViewSonic flat panel TVs. They are installed where on the shelf where the old TVs were so they effectively take the same space.

You are correct but it depends how they were installed some got moved slightly off center and they don't swivel that easily as the edge of the TV is to close to the edge of the adjoining cupboard. However with a little effort you can reach behind the TV and use the plug. There is also a little bit of storage room behind the TV but it is also a good spot to forget something placed there. It's still a great place to leave items on charge but I wish they wouldn't lock them down so they can't be swiveled.
BlewWater Posted August 2, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2011 There are a couple of pictures on this Stateroom Photos page that show the TV on the shelf: http://www.1mpages.com/SapphirePrincess/Room.html
