sasquatch340622 Posted August 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2011 Simply that, does Disney charge for sodas? My wife and I are not big soda drinkers but we may have the occasional soda. If they do charge for sodas, how much are they per glass and how much are the soda stickers? Thanks :)

The rule of thumb is that you are typically charged when service is involved - if you order a soda with dinner or at the movie stand when a CM will serve you a drink. I think it's free with room service but I may be wrong - even if it is free, it's customary to tip $1 or $2 per item. There are soda stations where you can grab a soda for free - self serve - or fill up your own travel cup to travel around with you. From what I've read on the Dream, the cups are pretty small and they ask that you don't refill directly into your travel cup but use the little cups to fill it. Hope this answers your question! WeLoveDisneyAlways Posted August 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2011 Soda is included with restaurant meals and at the self serve location. You have to pay at bars and room service
stsomewhere Posted August 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2011 If it is in a can, you pay. If it is from the fountain , you don't.
shoppgirl Posted August 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2011 We sailed RCCL previously where soda is not free anywhere on the ship! It was SO NICE to sail on Disney's ships because I could drink all the soda I wanted and I always ordered it at dinner. I didn't drink that much so the cups they provide at the drink stations on deck 11 were good enough for me, and at dinner I was always brought a refill when the assistant waiter noticed my glass getting empty! If you order from the bar, it is a charge, no matter if it is fountain or can. Self serve is free, and at dinner you can get ginger ale, etc that is also free. I order ginger ale every evening and it is included with your dinner. Have fun. I am also used to the Princess soda stickers, and actually bring my Princess Coke mug on the disney cruise so I can pour the soda from my dispenser cup to my mug. shanley Posted August 8, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 8, 2011 Soda is free in the dining room, buffet and self serve drink station (24 hours). There are several choices of soda and you can also get lemonade and soda water (club soda) at the drink station. I have never ordered it at the bar, so I can't comment if it actually costs there. But I don't think it should as they advertise free soda on board. Every night at dinner they brought my dad a club soda, because they quickly figured out that is what he likes. There is also coffee and hot tea at the self serve station. I frequently went up late in the evening and got some tea myself for free, rather than calling room service and providing a tip and disturb a sleeping child. Thank you for the information about club soda. I'm addicted to the stuff, and that was a concern. (It's been a while since we've done DCL), You're welcome. My dad asked this question before we went and I asked it to my Disney specialist TA and she said there was no club soda at the drink station. It was there, but only at one of the three fountains. And always available in the dining room. When I got back, I emailed the TA so she could share the info with anyone else who asked. If you are not looking for club soda, you probably won't notice its there.

After my first night at dinner there was always a bottle of sparkling water waiting at my place when I arrived at the table. Very nice touch. jessrose18 Posted August 12, 2011 #14 Share Posted August 12, 2011 as stated above, drink station cups are very small, bring your own or you will be going up to the top deck a lot! we are big soda drinkers so we also brought a 12 pack of diet coke and the "chill box" kept it cold, no need for ice.. truck1 Posted August 14, 2011 #16 Share Posted August 14, 2011 Just a word of caution/advice for those of us that bring our own mugs/cups (We are 1 of them) to refill from the soda dispensers on any of the DCL ships. same thing with the ice dispenser. Use the provided cups to fill your drinking cup/mug. What happens is that the soda dispensers can be a great place to be contaminated inadvertantly by any bug/virus. When we were on the Magic in Oct, there was a crew member at the free soda dispenser, filling and handing out the little cups. They dont have a problem with using them to fill the mugs, they are just trying to avoid having the ship get sick.
