Was there lobster on formal nights?

How was the mongolian cook station and burritto bar in the Lido buffet?

Did you do miniture golf and was there a fee?

Any good shopping stores onboard?

Hi lobster tails on formal night, apparently on our behind the scenes tour the head chef told us that lobster is chosen by 80 % off the guests! We only had 1 elegant dining night though.

The burrito bar was excellent but the queues for the Mongolian were always too long for me.

Miniature golf was free but aimed at the small children. Have a go at the skywalk I promise the first time round will get your heart racing!

Shopping did mine in ports. The sale of watches went well and the 1 dollar an inch for the necklace seemed popular. There is a great photographer on board who seemed to get the best shots at each port these cost 10 USD for 3, the one of stromboli erupting was priceless!

We stayed in a Spa cabin there is a small glass elevator that runs up from the fore of the ship from decks 11 and 12 to the Spa and Serenity. Anyone can use it but its closer to the Spa cabins.

 

Hi the only Tanadoor I can think of was the tandoori indian food area on the lido deck 10. This served various Indian cuisine such as samosas, chicken tikka,lamb jalfrezi curries etc. A tandoor is a clay oven used to cook Indian food.

 

We stayed on deck 7 in a balcony stateroom near the front which was ideal as deck 5,4, and 3 are where the restaurants,lobby,casino etc and 10 and 11 were lido and spa.

I used the gym which was on the spa floor deck 11 and all lifts went there.

 

We are booked on the Magic in March leaving from Galveston.

I was looking at the deck plans...what is the Tanadoor?

Did you stay in a Spa cabin? If so, is the spa elevator only for spa cabin guests? or, can anyone use it?

 

I can't find the search feature here on CC or I would have searched.:D

It's all US dollars, even in Europe. Very strange. Imagine a ship from a European line running a US route and requiring Euro coins. Had to run all over the ship to track down quarters for the laundry.

Hum, you didn't see the coin machine in the laundry room? Put in a $20 and it'll rain quarters!

How were the lines to everything. I am booked for the Magic on Christmas and was wondering about the lines to the buffet and other places on the Lido deck. I am excited about going but unsure since it is such a big ship.

I didn't have any trouble with lines overall, but maybe I just have a knack for showing up when people are doing something else.

It took me all of two minutes to exchange a $10 bill at guest services for quarters. I also brought my own quarters for first laundry day. It's not a big deal. Every US based cruiseline uses dollar system as it is much easier for them and passengers and eliminates foreign translation charges. US currency is easier for everyone.

We are booked in Cat 6N - the Deluxe Ocean View for 5 people. I was told at the time of booking that the twin beds could be converted into a king bed if the other top bunk was not lowered. Our 5 person is our 3 year old and will be sleeping with us and not in the back top bunk. I just paid off my cruise (Whoot Whoot!). Carnival sent me a confirmation and at the bottom in small print it states • Please note that the twin beds in this stateroom do not convert to king size.

 

Has anyone stayed in this type of room and not had the top bunk down? :confused:
