CapsR1 Posted August 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2011 Anyone here ever been on one of these two day cruises? Please give me any information or details. I know it will be quite different from any of the 7 day trips we have been on, but am curious to know what the daily schedules will be like. Thanks in advance. BeccaBecca1713 Posted August 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2011 So do these 2 day cruises count toward the elusive 10 to become platinum? You could rack up your 10 in no time!!
CCLNCLRCICRUISER Posted August 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2011 So do these 2 day cruises count toward the elusive 10 to become platinum? You could rack up your 10 in no time!! Yes, but they arent cheap. Its usually cheaper to do a 3 or 4 day cruise.
ZoeyVictoria Posted August 28, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2011 I was on that cruise in 2009. It was our "wedding celebration" cruise because all of our family lives in that area and it was easier for two of us to fly up from Florida than everybody else travel to us. The short length was good because most of our group of seventeen work. The cruise had all of the usual activities, plus several Halloween-related events (take your costumes). It was definitely a party crowd, and most of the people were local, or lived within a few hours of Norfolk. We had a great time. The two-day cruises are relatively more expensive than longer ones, but having to take just one day off work is attractive to us. We also did a 2-night cruise on Celebrity in January 2011 and have one scheduled on the Miracle for January 2012.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this information, especially about the Halloween attire. Will make sure our son brings his costume on the ship. Where will the Miracle depart from? ZoeyVictoria Posted August 29, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2011 There were more adults in costume than children, so take one for yourself also. Since we live in southwest Florida, we just raided our closets and added a few items (big hat, pink sunglasses) and went as tourists. It would not have been funny in Florida because so many people dress like that anyway, but worked on a cruise out of Norfolk in late October. The Miracle is leaving from Miami. We are always on the lookout for 2-night cruises out of the four southern Florida ports. There is a two-night cruise on Thanksgiving 2012 on the Breeze, but we usually do something else at Thanksgiving and I haven't talked DH into it (yet). Newsgirl Posted August 29, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2011 This October will be my third Cruise to Nowhere from Norfolk (and, more importantly, my 10th-Platinum- cruise!). The CTNs are a perfect weekend getaway with the same on board activities as any other cruise. It takes a little while leaving the port of Norfolk to get out to sea, so I think maybe an hour or so after leaving before the casino opens. Pepperw23 Posted September 10, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 10, 2011 We have decided to go on this cruise to see if we like cruising. Since we have never cruised, it will be perfect for us. No airfare, hotel etc...I'm very excited. Does anyone know if it sells out, or how crowded it gets? Thanks!
