We are sailing back from Dubai on the sixteen night cruise stopping at Muscat, Sokhna, day transit of the Suez Canal, Athens, Lisbon and Southampton.

Apart from Lisbon, these ports will be new for us so I have started to do some homework as we enjoy doing our own thing if possible. We are expecting a full day at Dubai which should not present many problems but not so sure about Muscat. Sokhna from the Cunard site looks to be their link to Cairo which we have visited but a search on this site suggests Luxor but a long day. I doubt that this will be possible under our own steam.

Athens should prove easier with the biggest problem being which site to visit. The Parthenon and perhaps the Theatre of Dionysos which is en-route.

Lisbon is fabulous and a hop on hop off bus , train or finicular to choose from.

Any suggestions or help especially from any one else going will be gratefully received.:)
