CruiserBruce Posted September 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2011 If it is 6pm in Rome, it will 6pm in the other Italian ports, and 7pm in the other ports you mention.
6rugrats Posted September 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2011 You know you can google this and pull up a time zone map for the world. Or, lots of cell phones will let show you world time clocks. Where I live, it's currently 4:40 p.m. and it's 1:40 a.m. in Rome.

caneable Posted September 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Not strictly on post as you don't mention the UK, however, others may have picked up this thread and if travelling around the end of October please note that in the UK clocks are set back 1 hour on 30 October at 2am. Don't think that necessarily replicates the US.
jocap Posted September 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Europe west of the UK will be +1 hour GMT, up to Italy. Greece and Turkey will be +2 hours GMT. All these countries will add one hour summer time between March and Oct, so even the UK, with the GMT line running through it, will be +1 hour GMT. At the bottom of this page, it tells us that "all times are GMT minus 5 hours"- so, with the UK's summer hour, it's 6 hours earlier on this site than it is in the UK; 7 for W. Europe and 8 hours for E. Europe. Right now, the time on the site is 5pm-ish, but here in the UK it's 11pm-ish. Jo.
scottbee Posted September 3, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2011 From US EDT, it is: +5 hrs for London (GMT) +6 hrs for Rome (and other Italian cities) +7 hrs for Istambul Yes London is +5 hours from EDT, but it's not GMT right now it's BST (British Summer Time). London is GMT in the winter, and BST in the summer. Also, technically international time zones are based on UTC not GMT, but the small difference isn't important in this case.
