Rahi Posted September 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2011 I am tempted to join our local TA here for a cruise in Jan.. big reason is they provide transportation . When I called her, and asked if price went down before final payment.. she said no.. cause they have a group price? And the price I gave her of my exsisting reservation was lower for the C-3 than what they had.. but they are able to match that. Why would they not be able to lower price before final payment? Thanks!
WALKER1313 Posted September 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2011 how many staterooms did the TA book?
WALKER1313 Posted September 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2011 If they booked enough staterooms your TA MAY be sailing for free, thus getting a lower pirce may not be possible. Don't know but this used to be a common practice.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted September 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2011 I have sailed as part of a group several times. Most of the time, the price went up after we booked. However, one Caribbean cruise had 2 price drops and our TA got both of them for everyone in the group. You might want to look for a different TA. Rahi Posted September 23, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted September 23, 2011 how many staterooms did the TA book? 22 some people so far.. say 2 to a room.. 11 rooms?
A1A Posted September 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2011 With 11 cabins, chances are someones going free or the prices were reduced giving everyone a small credit toward's what the free passenger would have realized. Ask your TA if they are sailing for free,(probably is) you still should get any pricebreaks anyone else gets. I don't believe with 11 cabins you get a special rate, only a free passage for every 8 cabins booked.
