departing from San Juan

Recommended Posts

We are flying into San Juan at 11:00 a.m.for the 4/29 sailing of the Empress of the Seas. Is it possible to check-in, board, go to our room and drop our stuff off and then leave the ship? We would like to spend an hour or two looking around San Juan (without our luggage) and the ship doesn't sail until 8:00 p.m. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! :)

Actually you need to be back in time for the lifeboat drill... But WHY are you flying in on the day you're sailing??? That's NEVER a good idea - Too many bad things can happen. Why not fly in a few days early and really SEE Puerto Rico - It's a beautiful island, and there's a lot more to it than a couple of hours in Old San Juan.

We tried to do that, but we couldn't get the deal we got if we flew in a day before. It was only $567.15 pp including airfare and port charges. If we fleww the day before it went up by $200pp. We didn't think it was worth that for only 1 day in San Juan.
