Just off a B2B on The Breeze and Ben Gentry was great!! We closed the placed down with others every night (one night not until 2:40AM!!!). He does a great job of getting people involved and part of the acts. If you just wanna sit and listen --- well, you'll still get calls out - especially if you need a Baaarrrrrrr Tender.

We sailed with Ben earlier this year and he was very good.

Piano bar Bob has now left the Magic - any idea who has taken his place???

I asked this same question and the answer that I received is that the Magic's current piano player's name is Jordan Heppner and his contract runs to 1/19/2014.

Since I'm sailing again on the Magic in 12 days, I sure do hope he's good! We spent a lot of time in the piano bar on our last Magic cruise in April.

Anything on Jim Morris?

...Wondering the same thing. Looks like he started on the Liberty 06/13 and there is a chance he may be there until our February 2014 sailing. Anyone have any experience with Jim?

...We're a little concerned. We spent the week with Ron Pass on the Breeze this past January, so the bar is set VERY high. Ron was able to keep my wife out of the Casino for a week... just hoping that Jim Morris can also save me some money!

Loved Seth Gibson on the Valor last New Years week........ unfortunately he is on a Princess cruise this year :(

Anybody had Marty yet?? What is his favorites to sing/genre etc......

Marty is great he runs a very upbeat fun adult PB. But it seem you will be on the Freedom over New Years and he will not be on then he get off on 11-24-13 and Larry M takes over until the Freedom goes to Dry Dock. Larry is fun but not Adult fun very few after midnight songs. His wife Heather is in the show band and will join him most nights after 11pm or so and that is when the energy picks up.

Hmm we were on the Liberty two weeks ago.

Dont remember the name of the piano player but we thought he was pretty bad and within two songs DW was ready to go. Tried it a second time and we left quickly again.

Never went back and everytime we looked piano bar was about empty.

Cruisin Mama-

Please give us a report when you get back... We will be on the Magic for new years and it looks like he will be on there there too. New doesn't always mean bad but the contrary is true also....

I'll be there New Years as well and I love Jordan...haha, he's my husband tho ;-) A group of us from So Cal will be on board so it should be a very fun week in the piano bar!

Yep, did the Liberty in June and the guy sucked. Didn't sing half the lyrics to the songs, kept changing the tempo in mid song, and had no personality whatsoever. Waited in such anticipation after having spent a week with James on the Glory and it was such a letdown! :(

Well, I just did a search on You Tube for a Jordan Heppner video. From what I saw, unfortunately, he's not my cup of tea.:( Now that doesn't mean someone else wouldn't enjoy his style. Jordan appears to be more of an easy listening singer (like Frank Sinatra) and I prefer more upbeat 50's-80's rock 'n roll. Just different music styles. Like I said, a lot of folks may truly enjoy his style...I don't think I'm going to be one, but I will certainly try out the Piano Bar, at least once.:o

Good news is maybe my S&S card will be lower because I may not be hanging in the Piano Bar like I did on my last cruise!:p

Ecstasy: Milburn Dumas 8/12/2013 - 1/13/2014

Milby gets mixed reviews. I have never sailed with him. I don't think he does a lot of after midnight adult songs but he does have costumes he wears and gets into his songs by what I hear. I don't think you will have a bad time, but he is no Marty Gast or Ron Pass from what I hear.

LOL You found that old video. That was taken before he worked for Carnival. That is not HIS "style". He prefers the 50-80s stuff, but can do all the old stuff too.

Here is a more recent video:

Just a reminder that entertainers will play what is requested, so if you don't like what they're playing, request something else! Sometimes the guy that is putting money in the jar is the one who likes Sinatra, not the entertainer.

Thank you, Patty, for the newer video. I am a piano bar newbie; my last cruise was the first time I ever stepped into a piano bar, so I know nothing.:o

DH & I decided that we must be getting old because the late night disco(?) no longer appeals to us. We don't recognize the music being played any longer and the dancing has turned almost into a porn show! I always thought that we were not prudes nor conservative, but we can do without all of the public humping and bumping . Apparently, our late-night entertainment options are quickly dwindling.

That said, we will certainly visit the piano bar while on our Magical Halloween Boos Cruise and check out Jordan Heppner. I'm glad to know that he does play more modern music than the first video that I saw. And you're so correct in saying that the entertainer will play audience requests. All I have to do is speak up and believe me, I am NOT shy after a couple of drinks!:p

Thank you again, Patty, for bringing this to my attention. Have fun on your New Year's Eve cruise...I'm so jealous! I wanted to book that cruise, but available funds will be too low since we're already taking the upcoming Halloween cruise. Another year, maybe.

They are more interested in playing your requests when you put bread in their jaricon7.gif

No worries! That's why I posted it, to get the word out there. Jordan is happiest when people are making lots of requests and singing along. A few adult beverages always helps in this process. :D

I'm with you, can't handle the disco anymore either. I'm definitely getting too old! :o

Give Jordan a hug for me! I'll be on the week after you (11/3) can't wait!!
