Livorno..Cinque Terre/Florence..

We will be docking in Livorno on 8am Monday and leaving 5pm Tuesday.

 

We would love to do a tour to Cinque Terre and also up to Florence.

 

Question..if we do Cinque Terre on Monday, will we be able to get a little time in in Florence on Tuesday and still be back to the ship about 330pm?

 

We have been to Florence before but just want time to wander. Do any of the ships tours do this in that short a time? We are on Oceania. if this would work we could book the Uffizi Tuesday (closed on Monday!)

I see you don't believe in advance planning. It is doable, but you have to be a little lucky. Your ship comes in at 8am, the train to La Speizia from Livorno leaves at 8:43am (La Speizia is where you catch the train that goes to the towns in Cinque Terre). The next train leaves at 10:43am which is the most likely train to take. Take your time touring the Cinque Terre, perhaps stay overnight at one of the towns there. Even if you want to return to the ship later that evening, there are hourly trains from La Spezia to Livorno. You will have to catch a taxi to the train station. Florence is doable, but it is about an hour and half train ride. Just catch the train around 1:30 to return to ship around 3:30.
