hi

i am booked on Seranade of the Seas for june 2012 Med. cruise

would it be acceptable to go to a formal night in the MDR without a jacket?

i would go in, dark trousers&shoes, long sleeve shirt & necktie.

advice please

Very appropriate.

 

You just might be overdressed.

I'm really surprised to see that on the Med cruises people are saying it's less formal. We're planning our first cruise to the Med and were worried we needed to dress more formally on a Med cruise than caribbean. What's the norm (most prevalent) you see on casual and formal night on Med cruise? We will be on Navigator.

Not exactly sure why they bother even calling it "Formal" night. About 50% (numbers are shrinking) actually show up in formal attire and the rest is come as you are or redefine to your own view of what formal is. Might as well be on NCL.
