Tetra Posted October 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Silly question.... I see that they offer complimentary gaming lessons on the first night. What do these lessons involve? Do they teach you how to play specific games like poker or blackjack, or is it just a general intro to the casino? Thanks!
cccer Posted October 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2011 We were on the Serenade last year and took our soon to the gaming lessons since he just turned 18. before the casino opens on the first night, they have someone at each of the tables teaching you how to play the game so you can go to whatever game you want to learn about. We took our son to the craps table and I think he was more confused than when he arrived. The lady teaching the game really did not know the game. I'm sure she can pick up and hand out chips, but I ended up explaining the game and I don't play craps much. Anyway, yes, you can learn specific games. cb at sea Posted October 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2011 They will use "dummy" chips to teach you how to play and bet. After the lesson, they generally open the tables so you can play with REAL money/chips. It's a good way to start to learn the game. It's also a good idea to read up on "how to play" before you actually take the lesson....that way, what they're telling you will make more sense! Tetra Posted October 9, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Just what I was hoping to hear, thank you! I don't know if I'll have the nerve to actually play, but I've been curious to find out how the table games work. And I'll study up ahead of time. :)
Desertbelle Posted October 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Plus, the dealers are almost always helpful while you are playing if you have a question.
