tate23 Posted October 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Recently booked our second Mariner cruise directly with RSSC but am wondering if I should transfer this booking to a travel agent who specializes in luxury cruising. If so, how do I find the best agent?
Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2011 You can either google the subject, and do some phoning, or you can ask individuals for recommendations. But you can't ask for this on this forum. If you have people's email addresses, you can ask that way, but nobody is allowed to mention or recommend travel agents on Cruise Critic. Rare WesW Posted October 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Wendy offers you great advice on finding a TA that is experienced selling Regent. Absolutely, recommend once you find a Regent TA, transfer the booking; generally a good Regent TA will offer anywhere from 5% to 10% cash back along with Ship Board Credit--you will not get this booking with Regent. Moreover, a good Regent TA will be there to offer you sound Regent advice.
Host Dan Posted October 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Yes, do some research, and find a good agent that specializes in luxury cruising, not specifically Regent. You might want to try another luxe line, and want to use the same excellent agent! (thats what I've done) Host Dan
tate23 Posted October 11, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Thank you both. Did not realize that I could not get a TA recommendation on this forum. Will go 'old school' (internet search).:)
Travelcat2 Posted October 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2011 IMO, it's rather borderline (but not worth getting upset about). What stood out most for me on the website is the lack of advertised luxury cruises, A TA that specializes in luxury cruising would made that fact known. A TA does a whole lot more than give you mlney back. The information they can share with you is invaluable. I would give this one a pass.
