vickie_bernie Posted October 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Every cruise I go to the gift section on Princess thinking wouldn't it be nice to get a nice gift for the cabin and every time I find them all so boring. Not much new has been added, and when i have looked at other lines I see so much more in variety. Princess please update, would love to see more varieties in flower bouquets, food items that are extra special, not the average canapes that you get on formal nights and at captain circle parties. How about a decoration package for bon voyage, or happy anniversary. I just searched Carnival and they have a huge variety of gifts http://www.carnival.com/bonvoyage/default.aspx but I don't want to sail Carnival, I love princess. love the drink credit for four drinks - wish someone could send me this or the party cooler with beer or soda, or the pampering bag anyone else wish that Princess would spice up their gifts, or maybe I am the only one ? notentirelynormal Posted October 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2011 I agree. I always look to see what I can send to myself and my kids and usually flowers is the only thing I can come up with. Nothing jumps out at me.
mollyanne Posted October 12, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2011 I totally agree! Just sent friends OBC so they could do a specialty dinner or whatever else they wanted. I would like to see gift cards for dinner at Sabatini's or the Crown Grill.
DrivesLikeMario Posted October 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Good to see you around again, NEN! Hi!! I agree - they need more gifts like an internet credit (card and internet package) and more unique gifts like spa stuff, t-shirts, drink packages, wine packages. whitearrow Posted October 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 12, 2011 I agree -- there's a real missed opportunity here. It would also be nice to have real online ordering, rather than just printing out a PDF to send in. How very 1998 of them.

Rare Kmkub Posted October 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2011 How very 1998 of them. HAHAHAHAHA I agree that the gift selection is sad, sad, sad. We're taking the boys for the first time in January; would LOVE to have something waiting for them in the cabin, but there's nothing appropriate. :( They need to hire one or two people dedicated to this and they'll get the money back (and then some) within a short time. As you said, SUCH a missed opportunity.

On our only non-Princess cruise (HAL - Christmas 2010), we were able to order everything online ahead of time. It was so easy. I think if this option was available, Princess would find that their pre-cruise gift sales would actually increase from the current levels. CruisinEars Posted October 12, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2011 They do have internet credit along with spa, casino and onboard credit. They also have a list of items available from the store such as hats and visors etc. Call the Res line and an agent can help. It seems like these items are hard to find on the website. RickEk Posted October 12, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Personally, I hope they get better stuff in the shops onboard. I miss the teddy bears with the ship's name on their t-shirts....

I think marketing really made a mistake on those.

You buy one and you're done. I think marketing really made a mistake on those. i agree i think they have dropped the ball here, $ could be made, customize a few items for the ship and itinerary, there use to be more, now you might get a t shirt with the itinerary and that is it. they use to have many different types of floral arrangements on offer and if you talk to the florist they can do something different but they don't have pictures of what they can do, just the standard arrangements that are few and kind of tired with. We now bring our own flowers on board and ask cabin steward for a vase.
mummyrose Posted October 12, 2011 #13 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Vickie Thanks for sharing.......I never ever even thought of what other lines offer.....but WOW... that certainly leaves Princess behind (Thet is who we seems to travel with ;) )... The other thing I think they could offer....When they sell/offer water on excursion as you get of the boat they could have a few extra things like battery's for Cameras.....My hubby seems to be coughing up his at least once on a cruise...people do not realize their batteries are flat till late...and folk hang around waiting/hoping that the shops will open on port days... Rare geoherb Posted October 12, 2011 #14 Share Posted October 12, 2011 I sent my uncle and his bride the "Fruit Supreme with Red Wine" for their honeymoon cruise on a Carnival ship. I thought it would be a nice treat, but a little bit odd to send someone a food gift when they're on a cruise. But they said it was very handy to have something to eat in their cabin, and of course they enjoyed the bottle of wine as well.
