Donna - dsw Posted October 20, 2011 #26 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Being able to do whatever I want - when I want to do it. Being able to get up and leave a show, bingo, or whatever if I want to or join when i want to. No trying to hunt down a good place for food - there are planty of places to eat! marshhawk Posted October 20, 2011 #27 Share Posted October 20, 2011 I eat way much more on a cruise than on land....it's a seafood diet, see more and I eat it.:D
turbo321 Posted October 20, 2011 #28 Share Posted October 20, 2011 :pSo what do you do on a cruise you would not do on land?:D I disconnect from the outside world and concentrate on the things right around me (ie I turn off the phone and internet)
drosphot Posted October 20, 2011 #29 Share Posted October 20, 2011 1. Drink more than two cocktails a week. :D I skip a medication when I cruise that I take weekly that limits me to 2 drinks for the sake of my liver. 2. Gamble, no casinos around here and I don't go to them anywhere else. 3. Eat breakfast twice a day, room service at 6AM, then to the MDR when the wife is awake. :D Oh I forgot... 4. DISCONNECT internet, phone, brain, everything...
gadan1 Posted October 20, 2011 #30 Share Posted October 20, 2011 With the cheapness of wi-fi everywhere on land, i check email, post on FB, etc while on land vacations. With the not-so-cheap and painfully slow wi-fi on cruise ships, I have no problem disconnecting from the internet.
rudechuck Posted October 20, 2011 #31 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Attend an art auction. (Come to think of it, I may not ever do that again) Attend the shows (anything to keep my wife out of the casino for an hour or two) Go to the disco. I will go to restaurants/bars with live music, etc., but I never go to dance clubs except on a ship. Watch Sunday/Monday Night Football or a movie in a lounge chair under the stars with a bucket of beer and the ocean breeze.

lady_cruiser Posted October 20, 2011 #46 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Have a cocktail or two. I am one of those persons who will "never" drink and drive so being on a ship lets me drink a glass of wine with my meal and then a cocktail later on in the evening. lds26 Posted October 20, 2011 #48 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Get up in the morning dress my children, leave them in Camp Carnival for the day and head off into port alone. Something I would never do on land is to leave the kids behind!

mjl1960 Posted October 21, 2011 #50 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Bloody Mary's at 8:00, Bud Lite by 10:00, and stay out drinking until early morning hours (since I don't have to worry about the Po Po picking me up for DUI). Having a bill for $300 + for drinks for the week.
