curiousx Posted November 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2011 We're staying in old town Malaga quite close to the port and, as we don't have much luggage, we are thinking of trying to walk to the ship instead of taking a taxi. Our tickets say the ship will be at Dique de Levante, which we gather is the new cruiseship terminal. The only entrance we are aware of to the port is through the main entrance opposite Plaza de la Marina. We'd appreciate the advice of those who have boarded from this location before as to whether our notion of promenading up to the ship is feasible and whether the Plaza de la Marina entrance is the one to use. Many thanks
Tony & Trevor Posted November 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2011 Sailed from Malaga two years ago on the Odyssey. The taxi just took a few minutes from the hotel but unable to recall exactly where the cruise terminal was. Have a look on 'google earth'-it will give you some idea where your hotel is and the port / email the hotel and ask them. Kind regards Tony
sullaRaffaello Posted November 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2011 I walked to the terminal last year for the Legend crossing. I don't know your ages or stamina, but if you take your time with luggage, it takes about 20 minutes to a half hour from the time you enter the port area. Dique de Levante is the farthest pier out. Rare texanaust Posted November 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2011 It is a really long walk with lots of uneven pavement. We walked out to the pier from the AC Hotel the day before and decided against it with our luggage. If you do not want to take a taxi, you can take the bus that the ship uses for about 1-2 euro per person. Yes, you have to pay because you are not a "passenger" yet...The bus leaves from just inside the gate every 15 minutes or so and that is how we arrived last year. This year we may just get a taxi. redheadednancy Posted November 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2011 We thought it was too long also and the uneven pavement makes it harder to pull the luggage, but the other issue is the weather, can be rainy. Cab is quick and not expensive.

This sounds like an option = part of our gang really wants to walk so those who bus it could manage the luggage for everyone..
