We had free icecream on Sun Princess last August. I also think that most room service items are 'free'. Many people tip the server but it is not compulsary.

Soft ice-cream & Popcorn at the movies are free. Bottled water is not free. Medical expenses are covered by your Princess Insurance, just a pain to submit it.

If this thread continues, lets make sure the info is relavent and accurate. I like to see someone try to charge me a fee to people watch and last trip on Emerald you could get free ice cream, and I have never paid for room service. If we post for newer cruisers lets give them good information.

I agree. It's important to make sure it's accurate.

Ice cream and room service are free. Not sure how/why that made the list because it's wrong. There is a $3 delivery charge for pizza, and on the ships with an IC, there is a charge for gelatto. Otherwise, pizza is free, ice cream is free, and room service is free.

Coffee is free but if you want fresh-brewed or specialty coffee, there's a charge.

This is a good thing for persons who have not sailed with Princess previously as each cruiseline is different.

OK to be more specific - soft serve ice cream is free. The gelato served at the International Cafe is not free.

Free food - buffet, main dining rooms, International Cafe (other than gelato and drinks), food from the pool side grill, pizza (except for that ordered through room service), afternoon tea, Pub lunch, popcorn during MUTS, and I'm sure more that I have missed.

Food you pay extra for - specialty restaurants, gelato, specialty room service items, Chef's table, and again I'm sure that there is more that I have missed.

Drinks (free) - tap water, some juices at breakfast, lemonade in the buffet, iced tea, non-specialty teas, non-specialty & non-brewed coffee, milk, and again I'm sure that I may have missed some.

Drinks (not free) - alcohol, specialty coffees, specialty teas, fresh squeezed juices and juices not obtained at breakfast, soda, mocktails, milkshakes, bottled water, all drinks found in the stateroom refridgerator.

Some of these may be obtained with either a soda or ultimate drink package.

Entertainment (Free) - all shows, movies, entertainers in various lounges and theaters. Most activities for kids in the kid's clubs.

Entertainment (not free) - Casino, Bingo, behind the scene ship tour, I can't think of anymore but I'm sure that others will add.

Hope this helps.

Food you pay extra for - specialty restaurants, ....

Hope this helps.

This needs more explanation - at least it wasn't clear to me until I read many posts.

For Specialty Restaurants, you pay a flat "cover charge" ($20 or $25) per person. There is no separate/additional charge for menu items. So one could interpret that as $20 for a "service charge" and the food is free...

whew, thanks for clarifying on the mini-golf, I was gonna say "are you kidding me, a fee for mini golf?". Does every ship have mini golf?
Princess Links, the 9 hole Miniature Golf course on most Princess ships is definitely free of charge. My wife and I have played it a few times.

Photography: getting your photo taken by ship's photographers is free, but if you want to get any of the prints, there's a charge.

Not all ships that have the International Cafe have the gelato (which has a charge). For example, the Golden has the IC, but no gelato. The specialty coffee there has a charge, but not the other items.

At the ice cream parlor, regular ice cream (soft serve) doesn't have a charge but I believe there are items there that do carry a charge.

The pub lunch is at the Crown Grille on the Golden; not every ship has the same specialty restaurants.
