Sylphy Posted December 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2011 You know the moment: pulling into the port and seeing your ship for the first time: this is it - your cruise time has finally arrived! For me it was instinctive to snap a photo of this exciting moment. Let's all share the first glimpse photos I know a lot of you probably have. I'll start, it will be interesting to list the ship, date, port & cruise #. Dream December 11, 2010 Port Canaveral, FL 1st Cruise

Blueboss Posted December 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2011 With a van load of first time cruisers, my husband was wishing for earplugs. It got loud with all the, "oh my's", "There's the ship!" and "Whooo Hooo!" There was 2 kinds of excitement for us, the excitement of planning a cruise which changed to excitement that we made it to the ship and vacation has started. Can't wait to get to the ship again! sugaangel601 Posted December 9, 2011 #11 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Believe it or not, in the 3 cruises I have taken, I have never snapped a pic of the "first glimpse." I guess I was just not really "expecting to see" the ship so I wasnt prepared. Either that or I didnt know which ship in the port was "mine" so I was too busy trying to figure it out! You'd think I'd have learned by now... lol. :o This is a pic from my friends album, when we finally figured out which ship was ours. Avril Posted December 9, 2011 #19 Share Posted December 9, 2011 I can proudly say that I have never taken a first glimpse photo. I was wondering the same thing. what on earth (or anywhere else) is wrong with taking a "First Glimpse Pic"? It's one of the most exciting moments of any cruise (in my opinion anyway) and the pic is often my very favorite from the entire cruise!!!! :D Sent from my iPad
Wags67 Posted December 9, 2011 #20 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Maybe it's because I've only been on 5 cruises Maybe it's because we only take one vacation a year (if we're lucky) or Maybe it's because I'm still a kid at heart, but I get butterflies each time I first see 'our ship' when we cruise! RollerCoasterLover Posted December 9, 2011 #22 Share Posted December 9, 2011 My family and I always play the game "who will see the tail first?" For my sixth cruise, I went with friends (all first timers) and I think I scared the crap out of all of them when I yelled at the top of my lungs: "THERE IT IS!!!!" I have won all six times...even though I had no competition the 6th cruise. I would post pics except I am on campus and all my pics are at home :(
