Sandoo Posted December 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I'm on the Valor in a few weeks. Is it true that there is a secret door? If so, where?
vwrestler171 Posted December 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2011 It's not really a secret but if you go to the very front of decks 6 and 7 and turn to the outside of the ship, there is a door that will take you to the very front
golfadj Posted December 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Believe all of the ships have this. Nice quiet place to hang out and watch sailaways.
beerman2 Posted December 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2011 It is a great way to view the ports on arrival. Very seldom do you see many people out there. Depending on the wind it can get a little breezy though.
H82seaUgo Posted December 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Believe all of the ships have this. Nice quiet place to hang out and watch sailaways. not on the spirit class, and only one lower deck (E?)on the fantasy class, most of which were converted to crew only. waldocruiser1 Posted December 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2011 It's not really a secret but if you go to the very front of decks 6 and 7 and turn to the outside of the ship, there is a door that will take you to the very front I guess that is better then a Secret door down on deck 00, or at the very back of the ship. either of those would give you a real wet wake up. iahawkize Posted December 10, 2011 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I'm on the Valor in a few weeks. Is it true that there is a secret door? If so, where? I'm sailing on the Liberty and the best ones are on the Lido deck above the bridge. If the side cabins have not been retrofited into Captains suites ( their balcony is over the outcropping of the bridge on either side) then you have an unobstructed view to the front of the ship and down each side. The website http://www.beyondships.com has the best pictures and deck plans to see for yourself. The other plus is that the cabins at the front of the ship are classified inside but they actually have a window to the front balcony.
Aplmac Posted December 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2011 . It's not really a secret but if you go to the very front of decks 6 and 7 and turn to the outside of the ship, there is a door that will take you to the very front Key to checking out yer Secret Doors beforehandis to consult Deck Plans(on the internet) for your ship! The Captain's bridge usually occupies the very forward end of Deck 8 but below him on 7 and on 6 are sometimes two small bow-decks. Sometimes too, the roof of the bridge is a bow deck -with wings! on Deck 9. But this all depends on exactly what Carnival ship you're on. Windy? Can be, yes....very! at times. ;) You walk the cabin corridors on these decks until you get there ;) .
big_duck Posted December 10, 2011 #10 Share Posted December 10, 2011 not on the spirit class, Not really true, they are just higher up and accessed from outside. Taken from the observation deck on the Legend.

amillard222 Posted December 10, 2011 #13 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Not really true, they are just higher up and accessed from outside. Taken from the observation deck on the Legend. Can you tell me what deck that would be? We will be on the Pride in Feb. and would love to go out there. Thanks!
big_duck Posted December 10, 2011 #14 Share Posted December 10, 2011 doesn't quite count as secret, eh? None of them do. While it is true that Carnival doesn't hang big signs saying "this way to the great egress", they aren't hidden by any means.

Aplmac Posted December 10, 2011 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Can you tell me what deck that would be? We will be on the Pride in Feb. and would love to go out there. Thanks! That would most likely be the crew-only bow deck on level 4 where if you're lucky, you can sometimes see the show-girls in the little bikinis catching some rays. That's their little crew-only pool visible
Aplmac Posted December 10, 2011 #17 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I see a lot of signs saying "EXIT" --exit to where? Exit to the outside with fresh air, so you don't drown like a rat (or roast in a fire) when the sand hits the fan -that's where. ;) .

Aplmac Posted December 10, 2011 #23 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks everyone! I'll be sure to check it out on the Valor on the 24th! Check out VALOR Deck Plans athttp://www.cruisecheap.com/ships/carnival-cruises-carnival-valor-deck-plans.html I just had a quick look. Decks 6 and 7 look to be accessible! Just walk those forward cabin corridors, until you get to the access doors on the two sides of the ship. .
vital1 Posted December 11, 2011 #24 Share Posted December 11, 2011 We've booked the new Scenic Oceanview Cabins on the Valor on the forward Lido deck. They are located where the "secret deck" used to be. They have floor to ceiling windows!! Sent from my phone....not responsible for crazy auto-corrections!!!
