Tikibird Posted December 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2011 We would be boarding as early as possible but sailaway is 8pm so how does that affect shipboard activities and dining? Is there still a muster drill? Would there be production shows? Do they have lectures and other activities?
kuldalai Posted December 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2011 You will always have a muster drill before sailing irrespective of cruise length. On longer cruises where extra pax embark at intermediate ports then only they have to attend the repeated muster drill . On two - three night coastal cruise full normal dining rooms, entertainment, etc . So the activities on board are the same whether the cruise is for 2 - 3 nights or 107 nights . woodscruise Posted December 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2011 When we did a weekend cruise on Pacific Jewel in July the muster drill was held on the Saturday, after we had sailed. This was the cruise that was delayed due to the high seas. According to international law, the life boat drill must be held within 24 hours of the ship sailing. Most cruise lines do this drill prior to sailing.

Those normally tie into port visits, so as you won't have any of those, there won't be lectures.
Tikibird Posted December 17, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted December 17, 2011 What about dining? This ship doesn't have Anytime Dining but how do they handle the 2 seatings when the ship sails at 8pm?
Debsta Posted December 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 17, 2011 They will still have the 2 regular early and late dining seatings, 6 pm and 8-8.30 pmish. If your late boarding you'll miss din dins and have to go to the buffet :p
Billy and Charlie's Mum Posted December 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 17, 2011 What about dining? This ship doesn't have Anytime Dining but how do they handle the 2 seatings when the ship sails at 8pm? As per normal... two sittings 6pm and 8pm. If you want to watch sailaway at 8pm book for 6pm sitting. We prefer 6pm - we then go to watch a show.

Is there still a muster drill? Would there be production shows? Do they have lectures and other activities? There will be a welcome aboard show and other activities. I doubt very much that there would be lectures. There would not be any port lectures and the Scholarhship at Sea lectures are only on longer cruises.
