Zip Line

Would like to do the zip line on the ALLURE, can I make resv. online or just on the ship?? How much is it? We are doing a back to back in April so we can see all of the ship. Also about the shows, when is the best time to make resv. for them?? We asked for an early dinner setting just for that purpose.

I think the zip line is first come, first serve. If you wear glasses, make sure you have a strap to put on them or they will make you remove the glasses. Typically, the show reservations open up about 100 days prior to your cruise. You can keep checking the RCI site to see availability or you can wait for them to email you to let you know they are open. They emailed us a week or so after we had booked all of our shows.

No charge for zip line. Just show up and wait in line...Show reservations usually about 90 days prior to sailing, I think. Many shows are later performances. We always do LATE dinner (830pm) and still have no problem making the shows. I remember seeing shows starting at 1030pm, such as Blue Planet, Chicago, and the diving show.....

Though there are no reservations for the zip line you can sign the liability waivers on-line before you go on the cruise. That will save you some time when you are aboard and often times you will get to move ahead of the others who are filling out the waivers at the station. You can also do the waivers for the rock wall, flowrider, and ice skating on-line. It is easiest to just sign them all off. Then if you decide that you want to do the activity while you are on the ship you don't have to worry about getting the waivers done.

We did the Allure Zip Line on boarding day and got right on it twice each with no wait. There was a very small line and since we had already filled out our waivers online we could go multiple times while others were still filling stuff out.

Also - Be sure to wear or bring a pair of socks for the zipline. You can either wear your own tennis shoes or use theirs. If you use theirs, just remember to bring socks! *required*

I'd also bring a hair band (for those of you with long hair) because they'll ask you to tie it back.

Lol and we found out that they wont let you ride if you're freshly out of the pool. Apparently they don't want you dripping on people below :p

It's a good idea to stagger your zip lining experience with others in your party if you can. We had the " girls" go first and the "guys" held our sunglasses and cruise cards and took videos from the landing area. Then they stood in line while we held their stuff and took videos. It meant the whole process took about an hour rather than the 1/2 hour we would have waited if we went all together because the line (with about 12 people in front of us) was about a 20 minute wait plus the gearing up, actual zip and unhooking in the landing zone. It goes by really fast, but it's fun! There are loungers by the landing zone so while we waited for the guys, we sat and chatted and watched the other zippers land! By doing it this way we got great videos and you could really watch each other, which you cant do if you are right behind someone gearing up yourself.

Other advice: Do your zipline experience earlier in the cruise rather than later. If you wait until the last day, the lines will be very, very long. It seems that folks get up their courage to try by that last day.

As for booking shows, you cannot book shows or tours until you have made your final payment. Note, too, that for the dive shows, even reservations are no guarantee because these shows are at the mercy of wind and rain. The shows can be canceled.

We never did get to see a dive show on our last cruise on Oasis (except for the Splish Splash Comedy Dive Show) because even some rescheduled shows were cancled and others were held at times we had other reservations.
