Leaving luggage at London hotels?

We will be arriving at Heathrow around 6AM - and anticipate getting to our hotel - Novotel Waterloo - around 9AM. Check-in time is of course 2PM.

Last time we did this was 16 years ago and we managed to leave our luggage at the hotel and fill in our time for half a day before coming back to check-in (and go to sleep after a 24 hour flight )

But that was a long time ago - and much has happened since in the way of added security post 9/11 etc.

Anybody got any thoughts about this please?

Thanks

Barry

We've never had a problem leaving luggage at hotels before check-in time (& frequently the room is already available) or with leaving luggage at reception for the rest of the day after checking out. That's UK, europe, etc.

But as Rickey's answer, no harm in an e-mail to confirm ;)

I've experienced no change in hotel practice in the last 10 years. But, as has been rightly said, an email to confirm will do no harm.

In any event, if the hotel wasn't full the night before, you may even get checked-in to your room as soon as you arrive.

G'day Barry and my experience of storing luggage at London Hotels is..They like to charge you a Fiver or so. A bit rough when you get there in the morning, like you say and cannot get into the room until the arvo.
