Rufford155 Posted December 15, 2013 #551 Share Posted December 15, 2013 Would anyone like to give me an update on exactly where the inside and outside smoking areas are on the Royal. I'm going on the Feb 9th cruise to the Caribbean. I know no smoking inside the cabins or the balconies, but just want to make sure where to go. Thanks in advance for the info! If I were you I'd just ask at customer services after you are on board. The places seem to keep changing - see all the conflicts on this thread. Same advice to anyone thinking of putting this question on here. On Emerald (sailed on it last month) there's a cigar lounge next to the casino where cigarettes were allowed too. Very handy in cold weather. But it's not on every ship and sometimes might be restricted to cigars.
singelsethc Posted December 29, 2013 #552 Share Posted December 29, 2013 I was recently on Crown and while they tell you of places you can go in the Patter, you can also go to the outdoor deck on 16 AFT (outside Adagio) to smoke, and on 7 on the outdoor Starboard side, I saw ashtrays near Explorers. I'm sure you know now how it was. for me I hated you cannot smoke on your balcony anymore!!
kingofnull Posted January 16, 2014 #553 Share Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) Electronic CigarettesThe use of electronic cigarettes is permitted in all areas onboard with the exception of dining areas and the Princess Theater. However, should a fellow passenger in the vicinity feel inconvenienced and complain, even after being told the difference between electronic cigarettes and real cigarettes, we will ask the passenger to refrain from smoking the electronic cigarette. As per Princess smoking policy. Can anyone advise if the onus is on the e-cigarette using passenger or the ship to explain the difference between e-cigs and real cigs? I can easily educate my fellow pad, but some folk may find the explanation has more credence coming from a ship official. I went out of my way to make sure I got an e-cig that looks nothing like a cigarette, but I am also down to 0mg of nicotine, so passengers would be complaining about flavored vapors. Luckily I haven't had to explain this to anyone as they haven't asked. If you have an e-cig that is made to look like a real cigarette you may encounter problems in which case I would just be prepared to explain....though the passengers will probably figure it out when they realize they don't smell smoke ;)

I've got a mechanical mod that you'd have to be pretty simple to mistake for a real cigarette. Also only vaping 0mg at the moment. Even still, I've had some issues with folks locally not understanding the difference.

Hmmm.... maybe if you give a short explanation and show the bottle of vapor oil indicating 0mg? I know it can get tedious but the more we educate now, hopefully the less we will need to in the future.
deckgal54 Posted January 16, 2014 #557 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Just back from the Crown Princess. DH and his buddies were concerned a bout smoking cigars outside. We found the area by the Tradewinds bar on deck 15 to have tables and ashtrays. In the mornings til about 10am, coffee, juice and water was available as well as bar service. Outside Adagio's- tables and chairs with ashtrays. Promenade deck- Starboard, near the exit doors by Explorers. Ashtrays on the wall and some seating. Cigar bar- Casino- non formal nights and only 1/2 of the casino. Smoking at slots only ( I think). it's nice to be able to sit and have a cigar or cigarette with others of like mind. Thank you Princess for not exiling the smokers to some obscure area of the ship.

Duane T Posted February 8, 2014 #559 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Last December on the Golden' date=' we couldn't stand waiting for the elevator by the starboard exit of the Princess Theater, the odor was so strong. So maybe it depends on how much smoking is going on each night in the casino.[/quote'] We were on the Golden in December as well and noticed the strong cigar/cig smell. It's not only the Casino, on Deck 7 entrance to the Princess Theater, but smoke seeps through the Smoking Lounge doors on Deck 6 by the Ladies Restroom outside the Princess. I prefer the layout on the Diamond Princess or at least the airflow on the Diamond much better than the older Golden Princess class of ships. megwalsh Posted February 18, 2014 #560 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Is anyone aware of the smoking areas on the Coral? Going next month and would like to be better better informed on where and where not to go. I respect the non smoking policy, as it is inconsiderate to fellow non smokers, just hope i'm not cast down to the engine room to indulge in my filthy habit ;)
sprinkles Posted February 19, 2014 #561 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Medgwash, hopefully someone else will be able to tell you what specifically is going on on the Coral currently. But if not, let me tell you about the Island last year (sister ship), as it is probably set up the same. Churchill's deck 7 (last year no air circulation and almost always standing room only) Sky Deck - 15 by the bar (last year just a few small metal tables barely out of the elements) A small area in the casino - when not non-smoking A small area on the promenade deck. Have a great cruise. Tammy
IECalCruiser Posted March 18, 2014 #562 Share Posted March 18, 2014 For those who do smoke, the Grand might be a good ship to consider. Aft of the One5 on the port side is a comfortable seating area for at least 20 people protected from the wind and there is bar service. There was no issue with smoke in the similar non smoking area on the other side. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

esmo Posted March 18, 2014 #564 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Where can one smoke on the Golden Princess? On our last cruise on the Sapphire there was a section on the Promonade deck - I believe starboard, a section aft above the pool area, the casino and Churchills. I am hoping for options that are out of the weather as we are on an Alaska cruise. We will pack the e-cigarettes for the balcony.

Being that we are sailing on our first Princess cruise in August,2013 my question is: Is smoking allowed in the Princess ships casinos ? There is a smoking section in the casino. They do not allow smoking at the tables. There are non-smoking nights, usually the formal nights. On our last 7-day cruise there were 3 non-smoking nights. CCFC Posted June 13, 2014 #575 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Its only 1/3 of the casino by the majority of the slots, not the whole casino that is smoking, you cant smoke at the bar or tables.
