Suite coffee machines

We were in a suite on the Jewel mid-May and the coffee machine was not Lavazza, but the coffee was. The machine grinds the coffee for each cup like the Jura. We liked it better than the pods that were on the Pearl a couple of years ago.

The Pearl is the Lavazza that takes the pods.

The Pearl suites on deck 11 starboard had Keurigs on the Oct 2011 Panama Canal cruise.

Conflicting info here.

I sure hope the penthouse suites have a Lavazza. It would be a huge step down if they now have a Keurig.

We were on the Pearl in May - owner's suite. They had Lavazza - I've never seen a Keurig on a NCL ship. There were 3 types of tea - English breakfast, camomille, and lemon flavored as well as decaf and regular coffee. We too asked for bigger cups. There are three setting for "water release" - one for a small expresso cup, one for about an 6 to 8 oz. coffee cup, and one that is "free flow" where you hit a button to have it stop. We used this one with our larger coffee mugs - you did have to watch and hit the stop button. The butler kept up stocked with milk, but would have brought whatever we wanted - cream, etc. He cleaned the machine a couple of times a day. You can also order a pot of coffee if you don't like the machine.

Our PH on the Star had the Lavazza with the pods. There was some flavored creamer but no flavored coffee. Everything except the tea was way too strong for my taste. I've had a Keurig at home for almost 4 years now and love it because I can choose what coffee I want each day without having a whole pot of it.

I've got a Kuerig at home AND at work. Love it!

We were on the Pearl last September in an SF cabin and the only tea they had was camomille. The butler said there wasn't any other flavor. Wonder if he was saving it for the GV and OS people? :D
