Kruisin' Kid Posted February 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2012 What does everyone like to do on sea days?
MrsZee Posted February 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I try my best to sit still, but that tends to be really hard to do. If my kid is in Camp Carnival, then I like to find a quiet lounge somewhere far from the Lido and sit with a drink and a book. This will be my first balcony, though, so I think I will spend most of my time on it with my son in the room playing with whatever action figure/car/train he chooses at the time. Again... with a book and a drink. :)

mrpayroll Posted February 20, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2012 The last couple ( on Freedom and Liberty ) we go out onto deck three and bring something to read and drink. Absolutely no one goes out there. You are close to the water and very quiet. Very relaxing.....
CharlesCutiePie Posted February 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2012 hehe I Love Pittsburghgirlee sea days! Usually I get up and have breakfast, then see what I want to do for the day and just relax. I enjoy playing board games with my DH.
scgamecock Posted February 20, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Not much, but it usually involves: Serenity deck. Hot tub. Drinking. Eating. Relaxing. Napping.

adriennerm Posted February 20, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I use sea days to sleep as late as my body will allow. DH and I work full time jobs and have 3 teens. Sleeping past 6a rarely happens. I try to lay in bed as long as I can. Then I go up for breakfast. After breakfast I enjoy a mimosa and book while chilling in a lounge chair in the shade. After about an hour of that, i'll see what activities are available. After participating in activities i'll sit at the atrium bar for a few. I love the atrium bars during the day b/c they are empty. Eat lunch. Enjoy another drink. Find another activity to watch. Go back to room for rest. I bring my I pod and speakers so I love going back to my room and playing music. Again something I can never do at home without being interrupted. :( Leave room for a caffeine boost. Pray I don't get distracted at a bar b/c it's close to dinner time. Go back to room and get ready for dinner. I normally have to change b/c I love t shirts and shorts on vacations. Go to dinner in the MDR. Have after dinner drinks. Go to comedy show, club or bar. Drink that extra drink I know I shouldn't have. Talk way to long to strangers. Sleep...... So to sum it up...I use sea days to be as lazy as possible. ;)
Yvonne Posted February 20, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Enjoy my morning breakfast of a croissant with guava jelly, smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers, a fruit plate, coffee and tomato juice out on my balcony. Read my book/kindle on my balcony. Read my book/kindle in a comfortable lounge chair (away from the pool) while enjoying a Kiss on the Lips. Browse, and maybe buy, in the gift shops. Have a leisurely lunch, preferably at a window table, in the buffet area. Take an afternoon nap. Sit and "people watch" for awhile. Have a nice dinner in the main dining room. See the show, and/or the comedians and enjoy another drink or two. Take a nice walk up on deck before heading to bed.
maldenmusic Posted February 20, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 20, 2012 We get out and try to do everything we possibly can whether it's a dance class, the casino, towel folding class or just laying out on a chair on the aft deck.
Kamloops50 Posted February 20, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Sit in quiet spot near the Lido Buffet with shade for DW and sun for me. This also applies to port days if or after we have been ashore.
Martini Mom Posted February 20, 2012 #15 Share Posted February 20, 2012 We do a lot of different things, but two things you WON'T find me doing is playing Bingo and being in competitions. ;)
AdrenalineRush Posted February 20, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Since I gave up gambling on ships...spend my time running, gym or taking pictures.
violetsmile Posted February 20, 2012 #17 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Wake up super early (because that's what my body does, anyway), grab a couple books and breakfast, pick a lounge chair in the sun, and park my butt in it all day. A few Miami Vices, some people watching, some quality time with Jimmy Buffett on my iPod, maybe a nap...At this moment, a Sea Day seems even more appealing than my ultra-packed excursion days! jonathansburden Posted February 20, 2012 #20 Share Posted February 20, 2012 We used to get out and participate in as many things as possible Fun Ship Survivor, Hairy Chest, trivia, my sister and I have a shelf of medals and ships on a stick from all our participating! Now that I'm an old fart I just bring the kids to camp and lay in a hammock on Serenity with my kindle :)
mousey Posted February 20, 2012 #21 Share Posted February 20, 2012 The DH and I usually go to wine tastings or just hang around somewhere on the deck, rarely by the pool area, go to the spa, go to Tea time, on sea days we'll do breakfast in the MDR, lunch in the buffet, MDR, or out on the deck. We just basically chill!:D No bingo, hairy man contests (been there, done that), or any of the other games that are offered like the Newlywed game, etc. etc. We always have a great time no matter what we do. The DS (now 16) hangs out with other kids all over the ship.
SMSACE6 Posted February 20, 2012 #22 Share Posted February 20, 2012 On sea days, I like to sleep a bit later ( no need to rush off the ship for tours ), and on those days, either I enjoy a leisurely room service breakfast, or a trip to lido deck, for the rare days that I like a piece of bacon or sausage with my toast. I like the side decks off the atrium on conquest class ships, and like to spend some time there, reading ( it is a lower deck so you can hear the waves, sea), and since my last cruise and my first experience with serenity deck, I enjoy spending some time there, till lunch time, then lunch wherever on board, lido, deli, pizza, fish and chips, or room service, so many great places to lunch. I always spend a bit of extra time in the casino on sea days, and one thing that I am definitely going to do on my next cruise sea day, is "tea time"!. Special teas, and cakes and smoked salmon sandwiches among other treats ( have seen photos of this on other CC reviews ). I get so many great tips here on CC. Looking forward to my next cruise. I love to visit the ports of call, but also enjoy my sea days. Lots to enjoy on board too.:)
