Advice needed on room

Recommended Posts

I'm traveling on LOS march 26-31. We have already paid for an accessible interior room on Deck 10 Iroom 1321). Now there has been a $200 price drop, and we could upgrade to an outside accessible room on deck 2. Of course we would prefer an outside room, but is Deck 10 preferable in many ways to Deck 2?

If you are in a wheelchair, you will want to make using the elevators at meal time as simple as can be. On Enchantment I always book deck 4 where the MDR is. If that is not possible on the LOS, then I would want to be at the bottom or the top of the elevator run.

Cabin Selection

To avoid the motion of the ocean, be in the center of the ship.

Top to bottom. Front to back. Side to side in really bad seas.

Stabilizers do a good job but sometimes …

To avoid noise

What is around you

What is over you

What is under you

Look at the deck plans

To avoid long walks

Where are the elevators

To avoid elevators

Do you want to be close to MDR, windjammer, pool deck, casino, schooner lounge?

To avoid $

Inside

To get a view

We were on the LOS a few weeks ago and were assigned room 1321 on a guarantee...I was surprised, but we booked last minute and I guess they didn't have anyone requesting the room? Anyway, it was a great room with plenty of space.

I do prefer the higher decks, but it really is each person's personal preference. If the choice is between ocean view or inside, it really doesn't matter much to me so I do go for location at that point. I like the ocean view so I can look out in the morning, but on deck 2 I don't know how good the view is? Otherwise, we keep our shades pulled the entire time. In the inside cabin, I sleep better which is a big benefit for me.

I imagine you'll be taking an elevator regardless, I found the two banks of elevators on that side to be fairly easy to hitch a ride up or down. To me, it takes more time when you are on the lower floors, but maybe that's just my perception. I think you would likely be happy in either room.

Enjoy your cruise!!

We prefer deck 10, as the pool is our main destination, and one flight of stairs is easy. Since you are wheelchair bound (I'd assume, since you need an accessible cabin), taking the elevator is a given...any deck will work just fine! Deck 10 is no noisier than any other deck.

We had an accessible cabin oceanview on deck 2 and we really loved it, closer to getting on and off at port. Less motion the lower down you are.

Did you have a good view on deck 2 from the porthole? We went ahead and made the change from inside to outside, and have been moved from deck 10 to deck 2.
