Muster station on Keycard

Spotted another poster said that that muster stations now printed on your Keycard, nice idea.

 

Is this fleet wide, is this since the Costa accident.

Sounds like a great idea, Shogun. Hope they provide a magnifying glass along with the card LOL! My guess would be that it's fleet-wide, and yes most likely it's another tweak to the safety procedures as a result of the Costa incident.

Yes, this is a good idea and something that should have been there for years. It could be beneficial in an emergency.

Just off the Emerald and we didn't have muster station on our cruise card, they do now swipe the bar code for all pax in the muster and have speeded up the embarkation and disembarkation by using a hand held camera and swipe machine

Just off the Sapphire & the Muster Station was in the upper right hand corner of the cruise card.

So far, I understand that the environmentally-friendly keycard system is only on the Royal Princess. Nice idea to put the muster station on the keycard. Princess may also put it on the currently-used shipboard cards.

Just looked at keycard from February 18th Grand. No muster station on it. This is very new.

This was just rolled out on the Caribbean Princess for our Feb 26th cruise. Very legible with the naked eye.

That sounds like it's such an obvious idea, that it makes you

wonder why it took a disaster for someone to think of doing it.

Just checked my card from the Crown Feb11th. No muster drill info on it.

HAL and Celebrity already do this and it is great idea.

We had it on our Sun Princess cruise 1st March.... so we are doing it "downunder" :D

I was kind of surprised that our key card didn't have our muster station on it for our Ruby cruise on 1/29.

 

Our Disney Dream key card did have it October last year.

Our Radiance of the Seas cruise in January 2011 had it

Our last two Celebrity cruises had it April and December 2010.

And our Carnival Dream in February 2010 had our muster station on our cards.

 

Princess is behind the curve on this one. Glad they're finally catching up.

I'm currently on the Star Princess. For the first half from Rio on 2/18, there was no muster info. But for the leg starting in Valparaiso on 3/3, the muster station is on our card. So it's quite new.

If other lines have been doing this for a while, any other things they do that Princess should copy.

Muster location on some other cruise lines is a boat number. HAL is an example.

I might find it easy to forget a boat number, but despite my age I haven't had trouble remembering Princess Theater or Explorer's Lounge, etc.:p

NCL has been doing it for years.

We noticed this last week on the Crown. Definitely a good idea.

 

Also, they did scan every key card when each person entered their Muster Station for the drill before sail away on embarkation day.
