Lhorn1209 Posted March 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Hey All, I haven't cruised in over 10 years. I was 11 when I cruised on the Carnival Paradise for 7 days! That was long time ago since I am 24 now. I was wandering what advice or tips yall could give??? Thanks so much! Fascination 4/28---5 days to Bahamas!:)
momof4boys Posted March 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Welcome back to cruising! Boy will it be different this time.....mostly because you will be of the age to enjoy all that cruising has available....casino, dance clubs, comedy clubs, etc. Read as much as you can on this site. Be sure to jump to your roll call to see who is there and look at your ports of call. Be ready to go with the flow on your cruise....if something isn't perfect, try to laugh about what isn't quite what you thought it would be! Some of our best memories weren't really planned....they just happened!! Enjoy the time you have on the ship and in the ports. Come back and tell us about your cruise! firefly333 Posted March 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Thanks so much! I am taking my mom on her first cruise for her birthday :) I need a little sun, relaxation, and a drink in my hand! Well, good news, Carnival has all those things. :D The difference I notice, less glass glasses and more plastic glasses. The bands have changed. The shows changed, from a show in the theater nightly to now there are other things like comedians in a back lounge and maybe a game show in the theater. Food just recently changed again .. good and bad. The good news is more choices, more venues. I like Mongolian BBQ for instance which is taking the place of the Chinese they used to offer. Triumph is one of the last ships still has the Chinese. Bad .. they dumbed down the menu in the main dining rooms to comfort food nightly and the dress code is totally out the window. Wear what you want, they dont enforce it unless you come in in chain mail like one lady did.
