Babycat Posted December 25, 2015 #110 Share Posted December 25, 2015 Anyone changed over to Sony Full Frame camera system, like the Sony 7R? Tom  I changed to the Sony A7Rii from a Canon T4i. I've kept all my Canon lenses and use a Metabones adapter. I wanted the improved low light performance, 4K video and in body image stabilization. The autofocus works great with adapted lenses though I don't have all the autofocus functions of a native Sony lense. I'm happy with my decision. zackiedawg Posted February 16, 2016 #113 Share Posted February 16, 2016 My only update for the new year so far is the addition of an LA-EA3 Alpha mount adapter ring for my E-mount camera. However, the purchase is mostly a future planning - possibly this year I may be adding the A6300, maybe an A77II, possibly the 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS lens with 1.4x and 2x teleconverters. Maligator Posted February 16, 2016 #115 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) Updated My kit: Canon 5DmkIII Canon 24-105mm Canon 100-400mm Canon 8-15mm fisheye Canon 180mm Macro Sold due to lack of use. An expensive impulse purchase. :( Canon 28-300mm Because I carried a 27 lb backpack all over Rome and that sucked. For most trips, I'll carry this with the fisheye in my pocket. Canon G11 converted to 590nm infrared GoPro Hero3 Silver Canon 430EX II speedlight Flashpoint Streaklight 360ws flash system (not on cruises, though) I also pack a Sunpak carbon fiber tripod, a Feiyu G4 stabilizer (for the GoPro) and a variety of filters and such in a Think Tank Airport Accelerator backpack. I also successfully (thus far) have quelled my impulse to purchase a 5Dsr or jump ship altogether and start over with the A7RII. Get behind me, Satan! :D Edited February 16, 2016 by Maligator

Rare pierces Posted March 29, 2016 #124 Share Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Hi! I have been shooting for nearly 20 years. Cut my teeth on Minolta and film. Switched to Nikon when Sony bought Minolta. Now Photoshop is my darkroom. Different paths... :) Make that 40 years for me and the first thirty with Minolta. When KM pulled out of the camera business, I stayed with Sony. I had a couple of bouts with buyer's remorse and took a lot of heat from friends in the CaNikon camp for the first few years but my choice has finally paid off with Sony on a roll now. Heck, they even make most of everyone else's sensors. Who'd have predicted that 10 years ago? The good news it that it has become almost impossible to make a bad brand choice these days. Competition has all of them pushing the limits of the tech and everybody that clicks a shutter is a winner because of it. Happy shooting...with whatever's on your list!
