bm6pm5 Posted March 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Is there anyway to find out how full a particular sailing is going to be?
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted March 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2012 You can almost count on holiday cruises such as Christmas, New Years, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Easter, Spring Break and similar events having ships sailing at full or nearly full capacity. In contrast, at least in the Caribbean, early September, early December and late January tend to be slower periods for cruising, These cruises also often have far fewer children and teens on board if that matters. BruceMuzz Posted March 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2012 It depends on your interpretation of "Full". In the cruise industry, we say a ship is Full when 2 beds in every cabin are occupied. That's 100% occupancy. Currently, on any cruise from North America, the average mass market cruise ship is running between 105% and 115% occupancy on every voyage. During family holidays and summer school holidays, the occupancy numbers jump to 120% - 130%. For all practical purposes, our ships are always full.
