Can someone give us an idea of best place to park for port Galveston?

There are several lots around the pier where you can park. We used to park in them and have never had any problem. Plan on spending about $10 dollars per day to park in them............I would suggest you check out some of the hotels on the island there are several that offer free cruise parking which is an awesome savings. We like the Hilton or Holiday Inn. Have fun and Good Luck.

Thanks for you response. We had considered coming the night before sailing. How far are these hotel/motels from the port?

They are not far probably 8-10 blocks from the pier... just guessing. The island is long and narrow, the hotels are located along the sea wall which faces the ocean and the pier is on the back side of the island. There is many things to see and do the night before the cruise. You can look at any map and get the layout of the island. Have Fun!

Go to http://www.galveston.com and you'll find everything you need to know ... and a bunch of stuff you don't. It's an excellent site, so the answers to your questions should be right at hand. Cruise parking is pretty much a cottage industry in Galveston, and there are many reliable businesses. Other than the facility directly across the street from the terminal, all have complimentary transportation to and from the port. If you Google "Galveston Cruise Parking" you'll be able to reserve a spot online, probably at a discount ... but it's not expensive, as cruise parking goes. We paid about $47 for the week last time we sailed out of there. Have a great cruise!

We've always used EZ Cruise Parking in Galveston. It's close enough to the port to pull your rollarboards, drop the luggage with baggage and walk downtown to the Strand. Or you can take the EZ Cruise shuttle to the port.

They are friendly and reliable. We stay at the Sheraton Four Points as we use our Starwood points for a free night. Reviews on hotels can be found at http://www.tripadvisor.com The Hilton looks gorgeous from the outside and also gets very good reviews. I've read pros and cons about leaving your car in a hotel parking lot. We prefer EZ Cruise where we know there is security and a locked gate.
