CCJack Posted March 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2012 We have 3 cabins booked for total 7 people in our group. Have about $1000 total OBC from TA. We plan on My Time Dining so have to pre pay gratuities, and probably will pre book only 1 excursion. So I think we need to pay for that ahead of time to (correct?). We don't drink much, so I am hoping that we will not use the full OBC. I understand it is refundable if from the TA. Do I need to stand in line at guest relations the last day of cruise to get the refund? Or can I get it sooner, or will it be applied to credit card. I guess I would rather not "hope" that it shows up as a credit on my card credit, but would rather have proof or cash when I leave the ship. Marysunshine Posted March 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2012 A bit off topic but frankly, by the time you pre pay the gratuities and pay for the excursion I don't think you'll have much to worry about. Even if you have a bit, it's amazing how easily it goes: minutes on the computer, the casino, even a drink here and there. $1000 divided by seven people won't leave much. The OP had to pre-pay tips so cannot use the OBC for them. Also if they pre book the excursion that will be paid for before boarding
39august Posted March 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I've cashed in TA OBC on my last two cruises. I went to Guest Relations about 2 PM on the last day. No long line. I maybe had one or two people ahead of me. I would rather get the cash than hope the refund shows up on my credit card!
CCJack Posted March 29, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted March 29, 2012 OK. thanks to all for the answers... Yes, I was under the impression to book MTD before the cruise, I would have to pre pay gratuities with credit card and not OBC. Same with excursions... That is why I am thinking (Hoping) we will not spend all that OBC just on drinks, gift shop, etc.
cruisenfever Posted March 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2012 If you want any unspent OBC refunded back to you in the form of cash, you can go down to Guest Relations after 4PM the day prior to debarkation.
