Muster drill update.. your thoughts ?

Recommended Posts

We in the UK are more safety conscious than the rest of Europe "Fact" as I have worked in many factories and warehouses across Europe and North Americ, our safety is second to none :)

so why no muster driil on a P&O ferry from Hull ?

Stevie

same as Condordia (but with lots of heavy freight lorries on board )drill announcements,so same thing really

so whatever they do on cruises will not apply to an overnight ferry carrying 1,400 people ?

I think where they differ is written into reg :-

2.2 On a ship engaged on a voyage where passengers are scheduled to be on board for more than 24h, musters of the passengers shall take place within 24h after their embarkation. Passengers shall be instructed in the use of the life jackets and the action to take in an emergency.

Ferries down at Dover doing a turn around every hour it would not be practable to do a full blown muster drill .

When you pulled away at Hull the TV's would have been playing the Saftey drill around the bars etc and you may have spotted signs

like this ....

which are the ferries version of a muster station .

You possibly missed it as you would have been suffering from the shock of buying two drinks at the bar . ( Pricey or wot  )
