Marie-Claude Posted April 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2005 I have searched for an answer to this and can't find it... We will be on the Rotterdam on May 19. I just bought a digital camera and I have a 512M memory stick which will give me about 200 pictures - I usually take a lot more than that. Here are my 2 questions: 1- Can I go to the photo center on the Rotterdam and have them download the pics onto a CD? 2- If I can do this, does anyone know how much it would cost? If I have to do this 2-3 times, it might be more economical to buy an extra memory stick (they cost about 100$). I really don't want to carry my laptop since we'll be spending a few days in Venice prior to the cruise, and I'm trying to keep my luggage to a minimum (hence the purchase of a digital camera...) Thank you very much for your help!! MC
jhannah Posted April 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2005 Yes, the photo center will burn a CD for you, but you'll have to leave your memory stick with them. I would suggest two things. First, the sticks have really come down in price. Get another one. Secondly, don't shoot at the highest resolution. Unless you're going to blow up your shots into 8 x 10 size, the highest resolution just takes up extra memory space. You have some time to experiment before you go. Shoot a picture, crop it to half size, then enlarge it to 4 x 6. I think you'll find the results more than adequate. Good luck, and enjoy the Rotterdam. She's a wonderful ship. Marie-Claude Posted April 28, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 28, 2005 Thanks Vegas Jim! I think I'll buy another stick... and I will set the camera to a lower resolution. 5 mpx is probably way more than I need anyway. Thanks for your great advice! I'm really looking forward to be on the Rotterdam!
