shelbytennis Posted April 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2012 probably reaching here but what the hell, it's worth a shot. only 2nd cruise for GF and i. last year was able to do a little snorkeling in roatan (unbelievable!). we didnt' do an excursion through the cruise line or anything, just hopped in a taxi to half moon bay and found a little dive shop and rented some equipment. cost us like $10 each. have 5 kids so trying to be a little conservative with their future college funds, but was wondering if anyone knows of anything like this on nassau? Thanks for any help. Cheers!!
Colorado Kat Posted April 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2012 Basil from Blue Hole (Blue Water?) Watersports. I think it was $40 each and included equipt, but I brought my own. Not as good as Roatan, but nice. When you get off the ship, on the first main street, Senor Frogs is to the far right. Basil's spot is right behind the restaurant, but you have to walk 5 min around several buildings to get there. Google the name, and you'll easily find his place. GloriaF Posted April 24, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2012 I needed this info also. I read one post from scubagirl that said most beaches did not have good snorkeling from the beach because there were no rock or coral formations where the fish could hide. Does Basil take you out on a boat to a good snorkel site? Any other vendor suggestions? Thanks for all info:)
near the beach Posted April 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2012 We have used Blue Hole water sports twice. Had a great time both times. Mark our boat captain was very good. We went on a twenty foot boat with just the three of us and Mark. They supplied the equipment and soda and water. http://www.blueholewatersports.com/index.html
