holdon216 Posted April 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2012 Was talking to someone today that stayed in Curacao about 10 years ago. They said there was a great little store that sold black licorice. Is it still there? If so is it close to the pier? Thanks, thought it might be a fun place to stop. Isa65 Posted April 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2012 That store was called Drop Inn (drop means licorice in Dutch). Unfortunately the store has closed its store a while ago. Your best bet for licorice is in the supermarkets or closer to the pier, in the pharmacies.
holdon216 Posted April 25, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted April 25, 2012 Thanks. It just sounded like a nice little store.
sail7seas Posted April 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Would the pharmacies have the real Dutch licorice?
Isa65 Posted April 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Yes, they would... In the area of the pier there are 3 pharmacies (one in front of Plasa Bieu - Old Market, one next to the synanogue and one in mainstreet Otrobanda). For a greater variety - when you go on a tour, ask the driver to stop anywhere you can buy DROP. Dutch supermarket Albert Heijn has a great selection.
