NJcruisinfamily4 Posted April 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2012 We are booked on the Legend on 8/5 and would like to do an excursion in Belize. The Altun Ha Mayan ruins seem the best fit for us in terms of what we want to see (our kids will be 5 and 3 when we cruise). I want to book through the Carnival website and noticed the Altun Ha and River Wallace excursion says age 4. The Altun Ha and Belize City Tour states an age of 3. Is there that big difference between the two tours that would increase the age requirement (other than the river part of course)? If they are strict with the ages then we would need to do the city tour since our daughter is only 3 but was just curious if the age requirement is more of a recommendation. Has anyone done either (or both)?:)
cherbear4000 Posted April 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2012 My sister wants her son to go cave tubing. He is 7 and you have to be 8. It would not let her pre-book the excursion online because of the age limit. She emailed shoreexcursions@carnival and asked if her son could go on the excursion. They said it was okay. They had her book the excursion online for the rest of the party and they will have a ticket held for her son at the shore excursion desk on the ship. If you really wanted to do the one over the other, I am sure you could despite the age limit.
NJcruisinfamily4 Posted May 8, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted May 8, 2012 We did end up emailing Carnival and they did say daughter needs to be 4 for the River Wallace part of the tour since they wear life vests and they don't have ones for kids 3 and younger. So we went ahead and booked the Altun Ha and Belize City Tour. Has anyone done this tour? If so, how long was the bus ride? Thanks in advance!
