Soot falling on aft cabins?????

Recommended Posts

We had that problem on the Dream we had cabin 6481 and our balcony was covered in soot. Was not a huge deal to us but the first morning we went on the balcony and did not really notice anything until we came back into the room and left black foot prints all over the carpet.

At that point we did goto guest services to let them know what happened and that we did not want to be held liable for ruining the carpet.

They sent a crew to try and clean it to no avail. and the balcony was mopped every day.

On the last day of the cruise we received a letter from Carnival apologizing for the soot and that we may have not been able to enjoy our balcony as much as we hoped and attached to the letter was a check for $425.00 and a certificate for 10% off a future cruise.

We never expected anything and they were very accommodating about it.:)

We had an extended aft on 6 or 7th on Legend this summer. No soot but our neighbor was constantly smoking on his balcony so we really could not enjoy it.

On port days I could even tell when he was outside smoking since the smoke filtered into our cabin somehow.
