CruisingYiayia Posted May 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Does anyone know if the Explorer of the Seas docks Port or Starboard in Bermuda? Thanks.
sept10dsm Posted May 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2012 I was told by the RC customer relations person I booked with that it can be either. Not sure if 100% correct but what I was told.
Scotty G Posted May 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2012 I was told by the RC customer relations person I booked with that it can be either. Not sure if 100% correct but what I was told. Probably true since once a month all the lifeboats must be lowered to comply with current maritime requirements. That means they must vary the docking at least once a month. In my experience this has been at a port of call.
marci22 Posted May 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2012 We have docked starboard several times, but it does vary.
CruisingYiayia Posted May 9, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted May 9, 2012 We've been to Bermuda twice, and both times docked port side. Our cabin is on the port side and was hoping we'd being docking port side again. I guess we'll wait and see.
fast ed Posted May 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Portside doesn't necessarily mean on the side of the port. If you're interested in why this is so, just click on fast ed and then click the earlier post re:sides.
rncruiser Posted May 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Been on Explorer 5 times to Bermuda. The first 4 times we were docked starboard, the 5th time, port. It's anyone's guess which way you will dock, so if you are planning your cabin according to past history, don't bother.
sept10dsm Posted May 9, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2012 I wonder about an Aft view? What do you think?
Pomperaugrr Posted May 9, 2012 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Every time we have docked in Bermuda, the ship has faced a different way. There is no one way. No matter what, the views are great, whether you are looking toward the Royal Dockyard and Museum, or facing toward the harbor entrance.
