njhorseman Posted May 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2012 It's uncommon for hotels in Bermuda to permit non guests to use their facilities, even for a fee, particularly during the peak of the summer high season . One hotel that has been mentioned as sometimes allowing this is the Coco Reef Resort. You'll have to contact them to see if they're offering this while you're in Bermuda. http://www.cocoreefbermuda.com/
cruiser429 Posted June 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2012 I will be in Burmuda for 3 days in Mid July, I am looking for a less crowded beach with facilities, Is there any resort that has cabana rentals? We are a group of 15. no one under the age of 18. I wrote to several hotels and got this reply from Elbow Beach Hotel which is part of the Mandarin Oriental group. Good afternoon, We do offer Spa Cabanas for the day from 10am to 5pm. In which you will be able to have access to the beach, pool, spa and our restaurants. The Cabana's are priced at $400 for the day, equipped with a flat screen TV, complimentary fruit basket, bottled water and sodas, your own bathroom and shower facility as well as a cabana host to assist you with your needs. Your cabana also comes with its own docking station for your I-pods. You might want to get in touch. I got this note from the spa manager. I don't know how many people can use it for that price. phillygirl63 Posted March 29, 2013 #12 Share Posted March 29, 2013 I have also contacted Elbow Beach about the cabanas. The price is now $495/day. Also, I think they are poolside and not right on the beach, but rental of a cabana does allow you access to the resort's private beach which has beach chairs and umbrellas. I just need to find out how far away the pool is from the beach, as I have one person with a little bit of a mobility issue and this resort is quite hilly and would create an issue for her. I would really love to hear from someone who has experienced these.

The beach is not right beside the pool. It's down a steep hill, BUT the good news is that they offer a golf cart shuttle around the resort. I hope that helps :)

I am considering this for this June. Thanks! It was wonderful! The staff at Elbow Beach Resort was friendly and accommodating. The grounds are gorgeous. Beach and pool are pristine. Lobster roll for lunch at Mickey's on the beach was delightful. We enjoyed it so much we are doing it again! MermaidMomma Posted March 30, 2013 #16 Share Posted March 30, 2013 How far is the walk from the pool/cabana area to the beach? Sorry...I just saw your answer in a previous post It's not that far a walk, but it is down a steep hill. That said, my husband managed to step off the pavement, lost his balance, and actually fell on the way down. He scraped up his leg, and we weren't even drinking... YET! I would definitely recommend taking the shuttle down and back from the beach. It's a gorgeous resort, and again, the staff was wonderful.

SailBadtheSinner Posted April 9, 2013 #18 Share Posted April 9, 2013 Is the pool a far walk from where a taxi would leave you off. Again, someone with mobility issues. Thanks for all your help! From my other post, the distance from the covered entry on Stonington Cir. to the pool out back is about 175 feet from Google maps. There is a satellite photo here showing the layout. MermaidMomma Posted April 9, 2013 #19 Share Posted April 9, 2013 It's not a far or difficult walk. The taxi will drop you off at the hotel lobby. After checking in for your day, someone will escort you through the newer part of the hotel down a few steps to the older part and down a full flight of steps to the spa. Then back up and out to get to the pool. My experience was this was not a difficult walk, but the pool is not right there either. If you make your needs known, I bet hotel staff will do all they can make you comfortable and help you enjoy your day. That also was our experience. MermaidMomma Posted April 26, 2013 #23 Share Posted April 26, 2013 Thanks for the photos! Do you have any of the inside if the cabanas? I don't have any of the inside. :( But it was big with a love seat and two leather arm chairs, a coffee table. There were no treatment tables, or pedicure chairs. Imagine a hotel room without the bed. Bathroom was also large, good water pressure, full tub, and very nice (mixed brands) shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and moisturizer. There was also an assortment of sun block.
