murph1031 Posted May 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2012 When we arrive in Cozumel at 11am, what time is it on the island? 10am?. If so does that mean that if we are scheduled to leave at 8pm, does this mean 7pm island time? AND if so do most people just leave their watches on the same time for the whole trip? I'm assuming that this is not an issue in Grand Cayman, right?
yogimax Posted May 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Normally you stay on ship time BUT pay careful attention to the announcments which will tell you what to do.
daijayx2 Posted May 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2012 I have always been told you stay on ship time and the time in Cozumel is the same time as central time zone. So if you leave Texas or New orleans going to Coz the ship time and island time will be the same, is that correct? But if you leave Miami or somewhere in eastern time zone Cozumel will be behind an hour. Is this correct. sunlovingirl Posted May 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2012 When we visited Cozumel in March, like we did at EVERY stop, they made us chant with them, to stay on ship time. That means no matter what time it is in Cozumel, you need to keep your watch/cellphone/ipad/whatever, on ship time. There were a couple of ladies left behind in the bar because they were drinking and thought they still had two hours, but in reality we were floating away when they ran down the pier. It took them a whole 24 hours to catch up with us in Belize, and they nearly missed us there too... Just follow what they say... They will make a million announcements and it will be in your fun times... and keep your funtimes with you, because it will have the number to call if you do hit a snafoo! Have fun! unionville3 Posted May 24, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 24, 2012 We always have a waterproof watch attached to our beach bag that is on "ship time". Your phone time will adjust to the location.

Havingfun2010 Posted May 24, 2012 #12 Share Posted May 24, 2012 There is only one time, and it is ship time. Ship time is the time zone you left in, and it will never change. Bring a watch. Do not use a cell phone.

Do not use a cell phone. Actually, it sometimes does change. But there are plenty of notifications. Always, but always look at the clock on the ship before getting off, and then synchronize your watch with it and stay on ship's time whatever that may be.
