cruiser2004 Posted May 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2005 Can someone, who has been in a full suite on the Island Princess, explain to me how the "complimentary mini-bar" works. Is it a one-time setup? Thanks in advance for your help.
Toto2Kansas Posted May 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2005 All suites there is a ONE TIME ONLY set up, just like for Elite Status. If there is something in the mini bar you don't like, just ask your room steward to trade it for you.
mommykim Posted May 6, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2005 One thing I have found pretty much impossible to get in my mini bar set up is plain old diet soda. Diet coke, pepsi it doesn't matter. I have asked for it and have yet to actually get any. They did trade the sprakling water for still though. Let me know if you want to know the basic little liquer bottles they gave as my son wrote it down as part of a school report so I know what they were. cruiser2004 Posted May 6, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted May 6, 2005 Thanks for the information Toto2Kansas and mommykim. Mommykim, I would love to know what kind of little liquer bottles are in the mini-bar. Thanks again.
marlinmike Posted May 6, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2005 We stayed in a PH Suite last year on the Caribbean Princess and by no means was it a "mini-bar". There were four or five airplane sized bottles of booze of various kinds, ie: vodka, gin, etc. - THAT'S IT! Not even enough to carry you through to the sailaway party :)
suitelover Posted May 6, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2005 First set up of the mini bar (8 miniatures (wodka, gin, whisky, cognac), Budweiser, Tonic, Coke, Sprite, bottled water, perrier (2 of each)

Every cruise I ask to have my sodas replaced with Diet Coke & it is done immediately. Not sure why they did not do it for you???

Infocus Posted May 9, 2005 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2005 In Personal Request forms, Princess asks about drink/fruit preferences. Do all rooms get a complimentary first time set-up? We have a catagory HH on the Golden.
Toto2Kansas Posted May 9, 2005 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Only Full Suites and Elite Members receive this. Sorry! :(
Infocus Posted May 9, 2005 #11 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Bummer! No Fruit or sodas in our room? I could have saved myself three and a half seconds of wasted time checking the darn circles.....:D
Toto2Kansas Posted May 9, 2005 #12 Share Posted May 9, 2005 You can obtain a fruit bowl free of charge from your room steward, but sodas or alcohol are not free except that first time mini bar set up to Elite and Full Suite passengers.
